I bought it for a small home alter. So, I can look at it while in my den. I chose this Blessed Mother, because her face was done nicely and did not look odd like some of the others.

One cannot easily avoid gazing at this work of art.Perhaps the image of Mary over 2,000 years continues a Rumour of Angels as Peter Berger wrote.The image of the vulnerable Mary who obviously said "Yes" to the God of Christians, Jews and Muslims would have been clueless concerning the consequences of her pregnancy for the world.Perhaps a beautiful butterfly effect.Ghandi and Mary reflect the rumour that every life is very important irrespective how it is led and we are rather clueless about our existence.Icons and art can wing down like an Australian Magpie swoop, brush you with their wings and go away.You know they are there and remind one that the sky and the clouds are their realm.I have been touched by rumours.The rumour that our lives matter are promulgated gazing at the statue, that's why we have them ... lives and statues.

I was pleasantly surprised with this statue. She cost more than I really wanted to spend, but she's the size I needed, so I bought it anyway. She doesn't look cheap at all. The paint job is lovely. My mother is moving into Memory Care and has a small cabinet to display some things, and this will fit perfectly. I know she's going to love it!

Beautiful statue for my shelf. It is a tad smaller than I was expecting even though the size was listed. Mary has a sweet face. Well painted. I love it.
