Guide to Landscape Painting (Dover Art Instruction) Paperback – 1 June 1973

This isn't a book on landscape tutorial but deeper look into the artist's life and how he approached his subject. It makes you love and appreciate landscapes. The fact that the artist's paintings are in black and white should not be a reason to overlook this book but instead a true lover of landscape paintings would take that as something to be learnt from - values! The most important thing that makes a good art. So I'm glad that the paintings are purely in just values to understand how a painting should translate the same way as it does in colours. People complaining about b&w images are missing the point and shying away from learning some valuable lessons here.

This is a wonderful book for all artists. Especially landscape artists. The book has information for a beginner as well as a professional artist..If you are beginning your art journey you can start with this book, if you are an experienced artist you can use it for reference.The pictures and diagrams are in black and white. I find that this is the only drawback in this book..

great artist, great book, very well written, but printed in black and white! that's so strange! and makes it so difficult to understand what the artist wants to convey. Real shame! wouldn't buy it again... hopefully someone will reprint in full colour

i got other c++ and java book instead of this order

How can you publish a water Colour book with all black and white pictures. I was compelled to return it ( reluctantly ) becoz of this.
