Worked very well on a week-long canoe trip.
My son used this for a week-long trip canoeing dozens of miles around in the Minnesota-Canadian border area (Boundary Waters Canoe Area). With this and a similar, much smaller model, he could carry most of the gear he needed for the week (tent, food barrels, and fishing rod aside). This one housed his sleeping bag, various layers of changes of clothes, outerwear for rain and cooler hours of the day, mess kit and food prep supplies, toiletries, a modest sized tackle kit, first aid kit, meds, his backup canteen amd his water filtration, shoes, stuff he needed for class (this was for college credit)...the capacity was great for his needs. When not in use, he easily strapped his canoe seat cushion and life vest to the outside, along with other tidbits he kept for easy reach. He is an underweight guy, and found this pack to bear its load comfortably as they portaged overland (sometimes as far as a mile); we appreciate soind design and good padding. It kept stuff quite dry and didn't sustain any compromising wear and tear. Buckles and bits operated smoothly and dependably. Outer straps and spots to clip things to made for handy space to attach stuff that were easier to keep on the outside. We're really happy with the quality and how well it suited his needs. We certainly recommend it for similar situations. In the picture, this bag is the light gray and black one with the silver cup fastened to it. We hope it gives good reference on size (we bought the largest one, 80 or 80-some L capacity. Also, kid is about 5'8" or 5'9").

Durable, waterproof dry bag backpack
I needed a dry bag for my camera, towels, etc to use when getting on and off Zodiac boats when visiting the Galapagos Islands. This backpack performed to my expectations. I bought a padded insert for my camera and lenses since this is one large compartment inside. I never had even a drop of water inside even though the backpack was splashed by waves and frequently sat in water inside even though the bottom of the boat. I’m glad I went with a backpack style dry bag as it allowed me to use both arms and hands while getting in/out of boat. I also used it as my carryon bag in the airplane. The exterior of the backpack doesn’t show any wear or tear.

Great for Rain and Rivers
This pack was amazing for my kayak camping trip. I got the 55L in order to fit my backpacking tent inside. It was plenty spacious for all my camping necessities to include an ultralight chair, a spare pair of shoes, car keys, and a charging bank, in addition to the normal camp items. It rained every day/ night of the trip and my items continued to stay dry. It was even partially submerged in water for a period of time. This bag saved me on my trip. Highly recommend. I can’t speak to the backpack straps but they were fine for carrying from car to kayak to camp. I’m definitely using this for future trips.

Great but no water bottle space
It’s everything I wanted, except ornaments have a water bottle compartment. Unfortunately, I will have to return this bag. However m, it you don’t mind not having a space for a water bottle then absolutely buy this bag. Good support for my back and dent seem like it would hurt my neck (I had cervical spine surgery).

Perfect for an Alaskan Cruise
Bought this for an Alaska cruise and it was the perfect backpack for the trip. Since it is completely flat and thin when empty I was able to pack it in a suitcase that was already stuffed full. While roaming we kept extra layers and 3 liters of water in the backpack. While on an excursion where there was climate control the backpack was large enough to keep my family of five’s jackets, hats and gloves so we did not misplace anything. The backpack is air tight the contents were completely protected from the elements and it was comfortable to carry when fully loaded.

Nice Bag
The materials are quality, it's comfortable to wear, totally waterproof when rolled up tight, and there is plenty of space in the main compartment. However, the pockets are really small, it's takes a minute to open/close it, and there is no place for a water bottle. An alternative is to get a Molle water bottle attachment. Really a great bag, and $60 to $70 is a good deal.
