Keeps your paints moist!
My original rating was a mistake. I am VERY pleased with the Stay-Wet pallette. It is easy to use and keeps my paints fresh for 2 weeks. It's easy to clean and set up for your next painting session. I love the design and I have plenty of room to mix colors. The paper is strong enough to handle mixing with a paint spatula as well. I absolutely love this product and it wasn't overpriced.

Yes this works very well!
This works perfectly for my glass palette which measures precisely 16” x 20”. It actually has just a little wiggle room from side to side, so the inner dimensions are a tad bigger than advertised. I made a little pull that I can lift it up with by using a little electrical tape stuck on the back. The lid is very airtight. I store it in the fridge and my paint blobs and smears stay soft and useable for at least a couple days (longest I’ve gone so far).Lid is very easy to put on and take off, as long as you follow the included directions. Ironically, the instructions are held captive inside the box……so how does one easily open it?? Pop up the four corners first, then the sides will easily release. I don’t know about you, but I usually tend to release one corner then try to pull it off, and it usually works, but not so well with this box. Uss the four-corners-first method for this one! Also just so you know it says not to store it in the freezer because it can become brittle and lead to cracking. I store it in the fridge and it works well. Thanks for reading my review…I hope it helps you

Use this SEAL to literally seal your palette, instead of using as a palette.
It's important to remember this is a "Palette SEAL," although it can be used as a palette. Here's why I ordered this, and how I use it:During an oil painting workshop a few weeks ago, the instructor used a piece of glass duct-taped (on the edges) over a same-sized piece of luan board that was painted neutral gray. At the end of class each day, he simply put the glass inside this palette and sealed it. You can use a paint scraper (w razor blade insert) to scrape off any paint that dries on the glass and a good scraper doesn't damage your glass palette. So, I can have a sizable, fairly easy to clean glass palette with a neutral gray background. Oil paints won't stay fresh "forever," but they will stay good for several days. My palette is about a quarter inch smaller all around than this SEAL to make it easier to remove the glass. If you cut the glass the exact same size, it would be pretty impossible to get it out of the palette without tipping the whole thing over.Even if you're using acrylics, using a glass palette makes sense because you never have to worry about staining the white surface of this palette SEAL. Just put a damp sponge in with your glass palette, to keep the acrylics moist. You can also just put a paper palette in the seal but the bottom surface isn't conducive to just one sheet of palette paper. You can put the entire pad in the SEAL and remove the top sheet when you're finished with it.Obviously this won't work for people who need to hold the palette, but for those of us who paint while seated, or with our palette within easy reach on a table, the "glass over neutral gray board," works wonderfully.BTW the instructor had one palette with duct tape (gray side out) covering the luan board, instead of paint! Is that easy, or what?I haven't tried putting the entire palette in the freezer overnight, because the seal works well enough for me. I'm concerned the plastic will become brittle if frozen, plus I just don't have enough freezer space at this time of year.

No seal.
This has no seal that snaps in place. The lid came warped and there are gaps. Even if the lid wasn’t warped it would be eventually because it’s made of flexible rubber material. Cheap.

The lid does seal
I was so excited and I paid for the sponges the paper and this container that was a lot of money to find out that I still have to put something heavy on top of the lid.And yes, the paint was drying out, even though I’m putting weight All around the edges of this product. Please note it shows up sealed, but once you take that lid off it no longer works properly
