AMT Gastroguss728 Casserole Pan Diameter 28 cm Height 7 cm

This is a beautifully made, heavy bottomed braising pan, with an extremely thick, hard wearing and effective non-stick surface. It heats up easily and spreads the heat beautifully. The lid (separate purchase) doesn't let much out, so it's possible to cook for much longer without having to add moisture.AMT's packaging loudly claims they are the best pans in the world, after an award by a German magazine. I can't claim to have examined anywhere near as many pans as that magazine, but I can say that these are the best pans in my world. I've been using Gastroguss now since 2011, and they feel just like they did when they were new: I've never experienced this before with a non-stick pan, which generally starts to show its age after the first twelve months.This particular pan is slightly larger than a typical braising pan — if that's important to you then go with the 24cm version. You have to buy the lid separately, which puts the price up: I am gradually replacing all of my pans with Gastroguss, but it's a slow process given the cost of each pan.There are just two downsides to this which you might consider. First, unless you are using enameled cast iron pans, like Le Creuset, this one will almost certainly be heavier than the one you're replacing. It's not _too_ heavy, but it could be a factor. The other thing is that the tab opposite the handle is not insulated: grab hold of it while cooking, and you'll be holding your fingers under cold water for ten minutes.Aside from that, these are the best pans in my world.

I have bought same kind of pan but smaller one 24 cm. And I was very happy with the quality and usage of it. It does not stick like other pans I had before. Also, it is very easy to clean.This pan I got for my friend for Christmas. My friend is very happy with this present.I would recommend it for sure.

I bought one of these pans many years ago, over 10 years i think, maybe 15 years. It has been used very regularly and only recently showed signs of age & use. I had no hesitation in buying the same pan again, the only difference is that my old one had easily removable handle, this one is screw on and not really intended to be removed regularly - a slight negative on new model in my opinion. quite a heavy pan with good heat distribution. Very happy with purchase.
