Very good basic mower
My old 40 Cm petrol mower died after 15 years service, and wanted something similar for a not enormous garden.Got this with £20 off voucher making it cheaper than anything else on the market.Came well packaged, and easy to assemble - this one has 7 height settings (says 5 on the box)Added oil (500ml) and petrol as recommended, started first time with no problems at all.Cuts well, and simple to manoeuvreSmall negatives? Not any quieter than the 15 year old one, but not enormously noisy - all steel construction is a bit noisy as you push it around. Neither matters - this is an absolute bargain at this price.

Good choice, very satisfied
Product is exactly right for me and our medium sized garden: well built; not much to go wrong; not too big/heavy (or small); easy to assemble; good instructions; helpful youtube video; excellent VFM; so easy to start; a good choice indeed after 2 minutes I knew I had bought the right machine. My last mower (Rover with Briggs/Stratton engine) lasted 23 years and I sense this one will see me out. I had reservations about 41cm size (as being slightly small) but it really just means up and down once more! I prefer the slightly smaller size because its more manageable. Just did first cut, slightly damp evening and it did it with ease. My last mower was struggling the last couple of years, so this has been a real pleasure. It does exactly what we want it for and a fair price for good quality.

Robust
Love this mower. It was easy to assemble and started first time after filling with petrol and oil. My grass had grown a little long and it was damp when I gave it it's first cut, but it handled the job fine and my lawn looked very neat when I'd finished.

AVOID
I hummed and hawed over whether to but this mower. Id never had a petrol mower before and I did I lot of research. The big selling point for me was the Briggs and Stratton engine. Im not an engineer and I wouldn't know a good one from a bad, but going by reviews, and research, the Briggs and Stratton engine has a good reputation and seems to be easier to get serviced and spares(I thought). Ive now had the mower for a few months, and used it quite a number of times. Initially it started easily, Now it takes a bit more yanking before it fires up. The engine speed seems quite slow(laboured). Its slow to the point that you expect it to cut out...and it does. I dont want to go into the guts of the thing ( why should I) to adjust idle speed,as you would expect it to function to a reasonable standard. In my youth I had an old Vespa which I used to adjust the engine speed on, and It feels like i need to do the same. It seems to struggle with wet grass and then conks out. I contacted Yardforce via their FB page, and was given an email address(and phone number). I found Yardforce's attitude particularly unhelpful(The American Yardforce FB page were much more customer focused). I was basically told that I had to find a Briggs and Stratton dealership(nearest one is miles away), take the mower there, get them to rectify the fault and then I (yes thats right...I) would have to pay Briggs and Stratton. This is a new mower, still under warranty, but the warranty doesn't seem to cover the mower not functioning properly(cutting grass without conking out) I will get our local mechanic to look at it. Please dont tell me that this will negate the warranty, as the warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on. I will however tell my friends and family and Social Media to avoid this product. Im now wishing Id maybe gone for Hyundai. In terms of build it seems solid enough, and if you get a good one, fair enough. However if you have a problem forget it.
