zero problems over 5 years
I have had this monitor for 5 years now with 0 issues. I have used it for work, school, and many other applications. I currently use it for a Golf Sim. It had stood the test of time, if you just need a monitor that you can trust without the pricey gaming features this is it.

An enthusiast's take on this monitor.
TLDR: A good, cheap monitor, that provides decent value for its price. Build quality is decent, image quality is not very good but as expected for a $119 monitor with height stand, built-in speakers are worthless.I am a gamer but I bought this for productivity use in school. It is IPS but it is among the worst in its class, and worse than many modern TN panels actually. Speakers are absolutely worthless, but for this price you can't complaint.Image quality: For comparison, this screen's picture quality is about the same as my Macbook Air 2014 screen (normally, comparisons to apple products are a praise, but my Macbook Air has a TN panel using 2008 tech). View angles are also very similar to my Macbook Air TN panel, which is decent for a TN screen but bad for an IPS one. As a side note, it is also pretty dim for a modern monitor (my Macbook air screen can get quite a bit brighter than this monitor). For $119, it is acceptable though, but just don't expect this to have retina display or high-end IPS quality.Build quality: The build quality is decent for the price. If you want a height adjustable monitor on a budget, this is the one to get. Although I would note that it is not as nice as the Dell P-series or U-series monitors in terms of the height adjustable stands, but those monitors costs at least $60 more.Speakers are absolutely worthless, unless you're okay with smartphone level speakers on a monitor. The latest iPhones actually have better speakers than this monitor. They're about as good as my ancient iPhone 6 speakers, which is pretty bad for desktop speakers. But hey, better than nothing I suppose. This monitor still get a 4-star from me, as for this price, this monitor is sufficient for normal day to day productivity tasks. A better monitor of this class would be Dell P2419H, which is ~$80 more. It has a markedly better display and with better construction quality (no speakers). But for those of us on a budget and do not care too much about picture quality, this monitor will suffice.

Low watt usage and no plastic break-in smell
I use the stand for reading PDF music in portrait mode, and love it. This swivel feature is something I always wanted to have but never did. I should have gotten it before. The height adjustment is also nice to have for when you want to stand up and do things and still see the computer screen well. I wouldn't mind if it tilted a little more than it does. But the height adjustment and change to portrait mode is smooth and easy to use once you get used to it.I plugged it into my watt meter and it uses only 9.7 watts, and the case stays very cool, especially compared to my older TN flat panel, which also had a fault of being too bright, even at the zero brightness setting. This monitor has a good range. I also believe 23.8" is the perfect size for desktop viewing, when you want to see everything well, but not have a wall of light in front of you. And, of course, the size and image are fine at this full HD resolution. Not even one day of plastic smell or break-in odor, which has been a negative feature of pretty much every monitor I've had in the past. My current TV stunk for months. This monitor, no heat, no odor. It is beautifully designed.Eventually, I will get a 4k monitor, but I've learned that it's better to wait, and prices come down a lot and they perfect making them. And getting a 4k monitor also would mean needing a computer with good graphics card which can handle it, and I don't need or want a super duper computer for a few years, or until I see how great the new version of flight simulator will be when it comes out in 2020.Warning: If you plug this in, Windows 10 senses what model it is, but the driver doesn't take full effect until you restart your computer. This flickered and had motion blur on videos until I restarted the computer and then it worked fine. What a relief! The thin matte black border is perfect, as it is non-reflective, and just enough edge to hold onto without touching the screen, while changing position of the monitor.
