This book has been very useful in my endeavors to sell my jewelry. I learned some priceless tips that will surely make me more successful. Really everything you need to know is here. My only issue is that each subject is briefly discussed and I had to do my own further research to get more in depth info. I sometimes feel a subject was rushed to just get into the book. However, this book has still been very useful! One more thing.......this book must be a tad outdated as there is no mention of the most successful means of selling jewelry.....Etsy.com.

I have been thinking about starting a jewelry-making business for years, but I've been hesitant to do so because I had no knowledge of all the intricacies of licensing, taxes, etc. that a business entails. And I had no idea where to go to research this information. This book explains everything in easy terms that I can understand. The author provides many links to go to for more detailed information as well. Top-notch book - I highly recommend it.

I really liked this book. It had a lot of useful information on how to set your business up to take it from hobbyist level to full-time home-based business. The author leads you step by step to help you get started and keep your business profitable. She also gives you many ideas on how to market your jewelry, what it takes to get noticed by magazines and how to weather economic downtimes. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about taking this next step in the jewelry making business.

I first rented this book from the library. I loved it so much I had to buy it to keep it with me when ever I need information about the jewelry business. It was published years ago, but there is a great deal of information that still pertains to the present day.

Lots of information, but the writing style was.....odd. Worth a read for sure, but left me feeling not quite comfortable....

I enjoyed the book and it had a lot of information in it. But what I wanted to see is step by step instructions in how to make or write a business plan for a jewelry business. I would have liked to have some type of formula in pricing my jewelry. Just and idea on how to figure your price for certain items like precious gemstones jewelry and so on. Thank you for such a wonderful book.

The author of this book has put together a wealth of information on starting a jewelry based business. She asks the questions that need to be asked and gives reasons for why you need to do certain things that aren't necessarily common sense that are either unique to jewelry selling or in the jewelry business context you need to make it as a jewelry seller. It also gives valuable insight on the seller-customer relationship to prevent potential problems. She frequently gives examples of designers to look up for different concepts to see in practice (which I found helpful). This is the book you should read first for a reality check to create the best plan to move forward.

There are some useful ideas in this book written by someone who has obviously gone through the process of starting up her own jewellery making business. The downside is that she is American and uses the dollar instead of the pound and some of the information is not relevant in the UK. However, the author does give some sound advice about marketing your products and how to set up paypal accounts and how to expand using fashion trends and what you need to get started in the business. The source directory at the back of the book is all American but you can glean a few ideas from it on what to look for in the UK market.

I am very happy with my purchase of this book, I have found it to every helpful.

another useless book on my shelf. I was hoping for information, how to make the jewelry. I did not need a "how to" to run a business as this was not what I care to do.
