Handmade Houseplants: Remarkably Realistic Plants You Can Make with Paper

I only wish I'd learned about this craft, author, and book sooner in my life! I'm addicted to houseplants, but it turns out my son and I are very allergic to my pet hobby. Now I can have perfect plants in any color, size, arrangement, etc. I ever wanted, I can say I crafted them myself and/or with my family (create-a-plant circles like knitting and quilting circles, anyone?) and I NEVER HAVE TO WATER THEM. Dusting them won't break precious little leaves! No more mold, kitchen flies, ants, overfilling pots with water, spilling soil, climbing around. Just. Peaceful, cheerful little plants in any color I could ever dream of. Keep it traditional or create plants that appear to confuse science and reality, or both. TOO MUCH FUN!!!

I'm really excited about this book. The projects are things you can actually make with materials that are easy to find! There is even a source guide at the end of the book. This is unique and worth the price.

Gorgeous book, and is well-written. The only downside is it will take a lot of buying stuff if you don't have it, and be aware text weight paper in the shades of green she instructs to use are not always findable, as well as some other materials, even from the resources she lists. So I'll be checking back in after I attempt to make some and see how they turn out.

The book is lovely, with clear and simple instructions. The author seems very knowledgeable in paper crafts, and the imagery is beautiful. I’m omitting one star from the review because the book was delivered torn and damaged at the top corner. The package itself was fine, so it leads me to believe that a clearly damaged book was shipped to me. Pictures of damage are included.

This book is fantastic because it actually shows you step by step how to do each project- no guessing but also inspires you to create on your own. I especially love the templates which I plan to use over and over again. There are many surprising plants that I would have never thought of creating. My favorite is the Christmas cactus. This book is a joy!

This book is fabulous. Easy to follow. All the templates. I lost count of the plants I made. Buy it, you won't regret it at all.

Book is attractive, nice pictures, but might be beyond an amateur's crafting abilities ( like mine, for instance)

Well written and illustrated. This kept me entertained making gifts during lock down. I saw an article about the book in one of my magazines and was curious enough to download it. My only negative is that I would prefer a hard copy so I could find things more easily. The "plants" I made are lovely and easy maintenance.

Good book for crafting nicely made and documented, there are templates in the book which you can use to make your own plants. However, I tried to make 5 plants by following all the step by step details given but sometimes felt certain small details were missing. Also the templates are not perfect for example I made Christmas cuctus plant and the template given at the back has around edges where as if you see the images of the final paper plant in the book they are all sharp like throne and the detail is also proper they are in kind of bulb shape and not straight..the template is missing all these details. Had to rework on the template.Second I tried oxalis where 3petals are attached to one wire ..and all the three petals are almost at 90 degrees.. but that detail is missing as how to paste them.. because practically when you do it they tend to face one another or go behind each other

A great instructional tool for the fun paper craft of making houseplants. I’ve made two plants so far and find the instructions clearly written, easy to follow, and providing a good deal of explanation on basic techniques. The seller was also very responsive when the first copy never arrived (they are in US and I’m in Canada) and sent a replacement. Also a great distraction for your hands if you’re looking for a good indoor activity.

Le livre existe en français,mais j'ai acheté la version en anglais qui était beaucoup moins chère.Le livre est magnifique,avec des photos et pas à pas très explicites.Il y a les gabarits pour chaque plante.Du papier de soie,de la peinture et du très fin fil de fer pour les tiges,constituent l'essentiel des fournitures nécessaires.La réalisation est facile et plaisante.Et le résultat,très convaincant!
