It is as nosiy and not well built
The only reason this product looked appealing was because it was the same size as the previous fan and I had no roomto add a bigger fan in its place. The product worked very well and quietly for few weeks and now it is already making noises after few hours of running it. If I had the space I would go with the panasonic products, they are relatively not that expensive and come with braces to support the product and are extremely reliable.

Good build, nice looks, verrry quiet
This looks great, installs as it should and is soooo quiet! Great upgrade over the elcheapo that was the original install.

Lasted less than 5 years in a little used guest bath
Motor died in a bathroom that gets used twice a month. Don't know what I was thinking when I bought this brand. Stick with Nutone or Broan.

Disappointment
Installation typical. Look at your current fan. This one was opposite of what I replaced.Disappointments;1) no way this is 80 cfm. This is a squirrel cage fan and has no more output than builder's cheapo I replaced.2) the compartment for wiring is real small making it difficult to properly complete wiring.3) instructions real close to lame4) fan has tick noise.I need three fans, I am glad I only bought one of these just to see how it went. Will not purchase another of this model.Note, this is the same type of fan in most cars heater/air conditioning. Why the cfpm air flow isn't better is anybody's guess.

Great unit BUT FOR SANITYS SAKE purchase only for full remodel, new construction or if there is attic access
Having installed a number of bathroom fans, so far I am confident this is an excellent fan at the price point. This was the first time I purchased a fan from Delta and while extended use may change my rating the unit hits the key elements pushed by high-end manufacturers. It is quiet- I installed an 80 CFM fan in a half bath that requires no more than 30. Even over-powered in a smaller room the moderate amount of noise generated is exactly what I hoped for. The construction is also solid. I read a negative review mentioning this fan is of the squirrel cage variety. This is true and in no way makes this unit inferior. It does a produce a sound that may seem plodding (lower decibels for sure when compared to the high pitch whine of other fans) and as a result the fan could appear sluggish. I think the unit moves as much air as it advertises. There is a valid issue with the wire housing. It is easily the least solid component of the unit and I COULDN'T REATTACH THE HOUSING COVER AFTER PROPERLY INSTALLING A CLAMP CONNECTOR! I had to loosen the nut on the connector and kinda snap it in. You really want this element of the unit to be as solid as possible. I also took issue (as other reviews) with the lack of "extras" that came with the unit (whether needed or not) but I think that has more to do with the last thing I'll mention.***Please take heed***Manufacturers never advertise these fans as "new construction only" (why would they). Some lines do advertise as "retrofit-friendly" and if you think this is your case- go with another unit. After my experience with this install, I do think there should be better advertising/guidelines put forth by these manufacturers in regards to new vs. old construction. I had to be very creative while doing this installation and the only alternative would be to remove a sizable portion of the ceiling. The main housing is designed to be installed directly to a joist or using hangers. It has plates that extend from both sides of the unit that are designed to hang it from the joist. If your old unit was not installed in this way you will find yourself spending more time than you absolutely need to. But more importantly, it is impossible to cut your drywall to the specifications given and install- without sawing some lines to accommodate these plates the unit can not be installed in an existing space. One last remark- There is no such thing as a silent, or near silent fan. Even if a fan were silent, you would still hear the movement of air. Remember sones, the measurement that the sound these units are measured in, is how loud the sound being produced is perceived. You may be more sensitive to this pressure-or just too focused on it!

Doesn’t vent 40 square feet, let alone 80 square feet. Very unhappy
We can’t even shut the bathroom door, unless we want our very small bathroom completely fogged up during modestly warm, not very long showers. I was so looking forward to this unit being installed as part of a bathroom remodel, now I need to pay, to have it removed, buy something else, and pay to have that installed. I don’t think I can return this to Amazon, because we no longer have the packaging, and it’s now “used”.

XLNT fan
Unit was easy to install and it is very quiet. XLNT unit for bathroom use. Glad I ordered fan with the light.

Great replacement unit. Works well and looks nice.
love the unit itself. Be careful, many old units (like the one I was replacing) use the three inch exhaust duct work. You may have to buy and run new venting for it. This fan uses 4 inch. Other than that, installation and everything was good. The CFL bulb was nasty super yellow. Way lower than 2700K in color. More like 24-2500K. And stated lumens are a joke. I don't have a light meter, but it doesn't get anywhere close to the 1800+ Lumens it states. I replaced with a comparable LED bulb at 1100Lumens at 3000K and it is amazing. The fan seems to be a bit louder than what I was expecting 0.8 Sones to be, but it is WAY quieter than the old unit I was replacing. The old unit shook the ceiling, LOL. The only thing I wish they did was put some kind of black filter type thing on the inside of the vent openings on the cover. They are fairly wide slits so you can see the fan and the ceiling around the metal box seeing that the light box has some holes in the top so light leaks up and lights up the area inside the cover. Trying to figure out how I want to solve that problem. May provide an updated solution once I work it out.
