I like the helmet as the veil I use for beekeeping fits well with it. It fits well after adjusting the strap inside. It is made well and seems like it will last a long time.

This is the 2nd one I have owned... Just as good as the first one I bought at sports chalet. The first one is still in play, but wanted a new one as the other one is 6yrs old and the new puppy peed on it. Don't leave on the ground with new puppy. Now trying to figure out how clean up the old and will probably loan it to some poor sole without a hat on a camping trip. (Should be sanitary in 6 months)Anyways.. I've taken the old one on multiple camping trips, desert hikes (red rock, Grand Canyon, etc.), Kern river trips, and gardening around house in 80-90 degree weather. I once lost it on tube river run and it floated long enough for me to recover. Few hats I own fit better than this... I wear a fitted 7 7/8" hat, so I have a big head.There was a complaint about it getting hot under the hat... I never had that problem, but the temps I use it around is 88 degrees and above with little to no humidity.Love this hat. Fits my big head. Fits my kids little heads (liner is adjustable). Stays off my ears to accommodate the sunglasses. Probably not good for traveling unless you wear it throughout security... Will take up lots of space in a suitcase.

I've worn this Dorfman Pacific helmet on the golf course for four years. It's light, cool, and comfortable. It's easily adjustable and doesn't slip around when driving or putting. This helmet shades the sides of your face and ears, and it gives some protection from getting whacked upside the head by some fool's errant golf ball and having to drool into a bib for the rest of your miserable life.So, when I lost my helmet, I was happy to see they are still available. This replacement is exactly the same, which is excellent. Do you see that this is not a fabric hat but one of a woven-fibers? It's sort of like a straw hat but more rigid. It's also very handsome with a nice over-all shape. Not like those clunky pith helmets you see on grounds keepers. Good hat, tough, put paracord through the existing eyelet holes in hat, strap not as good as paracord with a wooden bead as a tensioner, stiff enough to mount a LED bike light to hat, to use as night lighting for photo or trail. Not so big as a cowboy palm straw for sun, but its got through the material ventilation, might water proof the outside for ran, or use a clear plastic bag with a cutout for a hat protector with a clothes pin to clip the front to the brim. This kind of hat can keep rain off your neck if you THINK DIY and what if, when out, using it as a camera accessory to shade the LCD or crouching down under a tree, in a storm. Might give some protection from falling stuff, its not a hard hat but its better than a ball cap, because s--t does happen.

Very nice classic pith helmet, seems sturdy but very lightweight. I'm on medication that has a side effect of making me very sun sensitive, this is a nice alternative to your run of the mill straw hats. Hey, if it worked for generations of fair skinned British explorers...The sweatband on the forehead is comfortable, and the straps adjust to fit. I have a large head and a lot of hair, so it's great to find something adjustable! As with any straw hat I don't expect it to last forever, but with proper care I do expect to get lots of use from it.Huge kudos to the seller Pest Mall, really great service. I have no hair on top and ny dermatologist advised me that I need sun protection or risk scalp cancers this is my second helmet both work fine,they are light,cover my ears as well scalp and neck. Best hat for my needs at a good price.They hold up well and are comfortable.
