Sweet Product, Sweet Price
it came as advertised and shipped faster then expected, the entire feel of the weapon is very pleasing and i can use it as a walking stick, though id hate to scuff it up. it came with an "ok" edge on it, but a couple passes with a whet stone to knock the factory edge off made it a little sharper. and where the scabbard connects to the handle is very nice and firm. almost have a hard time separating them. so if you do walk with it its not going to continuously keep popping off. all and all great by, with it came in some more colors but this will do. i will be getting one for my daughter this xmas. highly recommended blade. ive not tried to cut anything with it yet, but im more of a stickem then slashem guy anyway.

Dissapointing!
What can be said. It's a cheap sword. It is 1045 so it is functional, but thars about all that can be said. It is Very heavy for what it is making it a bit unwieldy. The paint in the saya is VERY cheap and flakes off very easily. The blade is far from polished and shows a lot of machine marks. All in all I got it on the cheap for the purpose of wanting a Zatoichi in my collection, but if I had to do it over I would have saved for a higher quality piece.*Prettt certain this sword is cursed. It randomly falls over even though it is placed in a way that should be impossible to fall over. It knocked my camera over and broke it. Has attempted to fall against windows and break them...might be time to get rid of it*

A decent shirasaya for solo training
For $65, this is a decent piece. Mine is very solid, and does not rattle in the saya, which is especially important with a shirasaya. My blade passed the paper cutting test. If you plan to be in a sword battle, or cut bamboo, this would not be the sword for you; but a decent solo training sword, or piece for a collection. I am dubious that this is hand-forged steel, and the hamon is artificial; but the sword arrived much sharper than most high-end swords I have swung. I don’t recommend partner training with this one. I took off a star because I don’t think the description is correct, as the blade is not straight, which is what is pictured in the product photo, and which is what I was looking for. Also, hard to believe this is hand-forged. I am not sure what modern rōnin expect for $65, but the sword I received was well worth the price. Mine is nicely finished, as well. If you want a katana blade shirasaya, and you can’t spend $$$ on it, this isn’t a bad choice — just don’t expect it to be a $500 sword.

Excellent Chokuto!
This is a VERY nice "beater" sword. Solid, rigid, and light. Nice straight blade in both axes. The red of the wooden furniture is VERY nice. Much more so than the picture might suggest. There is no click or wobbly to the blade; it is just solid and rigid. It is a light weight full size katana without the tsuba. You might call it an Ninjato, but I think Chokuto is more appropriate. It is NOT a Tanto. The grip ridges work well and the grip is generally well shaped. If you are looking for a low key way to carry a compromise Katana, this is a great option. The balance point is 7.5" beyond the top of the tsuka (handle). Appropriate for a straight blade if you consider that straight blades generally do not cut as well as curved ones.Don't worry about the 1045 steel...it is extremely capable.I took a EDGEMAKER PRO SHARPENER 331 with the golden touch polisher to this blade, to GREAT effect. The factory edge was very unimpressive, but now after about 50 passes on the sharpener, 50 on the honer, and 50 on the polisher...I can freely slice paper. Razor blade!Very worthy sword.

Not the blue I was expecting
OK for the most part beautiful sword beautifully crafted sword came oil based which is always a good thing when by samurai swords always make sure your Swords are based and oilTo stop them from rusting and dolling out on you now even though the sword is perfectly made my only problem is the blade is not the blue I was expecting the blue portrayed of the picture is not the blue that the sword is the sword is a mixture of purple in blue a set of being the rich deep blue that is portrayed in the pictureSo that's one thing to be careful with when purchasing the blue samurai sword like I did because your blade might not be blueBut over roll I like the sword

I've seen better blades for 20$$
Well for starters you can clearly see it is not Damascus anyting but the reason for the one-star is once you hold it you can tell it is definitely not a Full Tang and if you look at the pictures you can see there is only one dowel holding it so you can pretty much assume from that that it's not going to be Full TangBack to the blade when you look at the blade you can see all kinds of flaws in it little pits and stuff like that

Quite serviceable for tamishigiri.
I did not expect this quality for the price. The photo does not do justice to the make of the sword. Approximately 8 mm cross section on a 69.22 cm blade, by 3 cm.No fooling, the sword is a cutter.Certain techniques require practice cuts. Bad technique can ruin a blade. The sword looks like it will forgive abuse and come back for more.Rapid delivery in the US, exceptional quality, all stars earned! Thanks kind vendor.
