I just got a couple of second-hand microscopes the other day, and of course I was super excited to test them out, but they didn’t come with any supplies like I would have received in a new microscope kit, so I had to order slides and slide prep tools on my own. I chose these because they promised to arrive in 2 days and were less expensive than the alternatives, and overall I’m pleased with them. The only concern I have is that everything was covered in a fine layer of dust (inside the packaging), and at least one of the microscope slides has a small chip in the glass. I have a toddler at home, so I’m really hoping the small chip occurred before it was packaged and that I don’t have a tiny glass shard loose in my home now. Anyway, after cleaning the slide and cover slip (which was also dusty), they worked well and I was able to use them on both of my microscopes without issues. Since the kit doesn’t come with any storage containers (aside from a strange little box for the cover slips), I’m planning to 3D print a box for my slides to keep them safe, but in the meantime, I was able to fit everything comfortably inside of a single breastmilk storage bag (gotta find some way to use those up!). I’m deducting a star for having to clean the product before being able to use it, but otherwise I’m happy with my purchase, and as of a few days ago, this product was the only one of its kind on Amazon in terms of price point and including a variety of prep tools beyond just the slides and slide covers.

I got this set to include in a science experiment kit I'm assembling for science-loving second grader. I really can't speak to the quality of this for scientific purposes but everything listed was included and nothing was broken (there are several pieces of glass in the set). The paintbrush does look sort of used- there appear to be paint specks on the handle- but the bristles are clean. Also, the pipette may not be super accurate - it's made of pretty cheap plastic.Overall this set is a nice variety of items at a nice price. The only thing that would improve it would be some sort of storage case.

Nice simple kit. Nice selection of tools and supplies. Made some stem projects my daughter was working on go smoothly.
