Works Well!
This year we have had an over abundance of rain leaving our basement very damp smelling despite constantly running a dehumidifier. Our under the stairs storage has been particularly damp smelling, with almost a wave of damp smell coming from under there.Yesterday I put this damp rid under there, thinking it would take a while to work but this morning when I checked on it, the bottom of the container was already covered with water and the smell of the “damp wave” as I opened the door was completely gone. The relief that the tremendous smell is now gone and that it’s sucking water out of the air is tremendous. I am amazed at how well this product works. One thing I especially love is that this product doesn’t have an odor itself so it’s not one odor covering another.I will update as we continue to use this product but we are all extremely happy with it so far! Amazed at how well it works with nothing to plug in or turn on! Highly recommend for those damp areas!Edited to add, on the third day we had about not quite half an inch. It’s doing a great job!Edited again- above pic is how much was in the container after two weeks. Great product!

Non-Electric; Fragrance Free; Works; But All Plastic Dehumidifier Flimsy; Heavy Tablets
Features:AbsorbsUnscentedMade in USASeems to workKind of FlimsyNo handle to grabThis really is not sealedAlthough did not leak, spilling possibleDate of manufacture is noted on the bucketConsiderations:There are use precautionary statementsDehumidifier is kind of flimsyWhat had I received? This was sealed (thank you) in a rectangular, sturdy, brown cardboard package, measuring about 11" x 10” x 5½" and weighing about (5¼) pounds. [A sealed package gives me peace of mind that anything inside was untampered with.]Describe the packageThe package was plain brown and “did” have the brand name DampRid, some basic marketing and product type information, and general location of manufacture on the exterior of the package. What’s inside the packageInside of course was the plastic dehumidifier, four (4) cellophane packaged tabs, and an instruction sheet. The tabs had some precautionary type statements regarding use, handling, and care instructions.Accuracy of listingWhat was received was mostly as described and as pictured in the listing, however, the listing lacked critical details.Dimensions and suchThe dehumidifier is larger, but lighter, than expected; measuring about (6”) wide, (8½”) tall, and (4”) wide; weighing in at only about seven (7) ounces. Not your classic DampRid particlesThis is not your classic DampRid particles, rather, are solid, they remind me of the tablets I place in the wash machine to clean it.Weight of tabletsThe tablets are surprisingly heavy; they are a solid and weigh-in at one (1) pound each.Size of tablets? The tablets are about (4”) in diameter, and (1½”) thick. They are solid.PerformanceThere appears to be a very good chemical reaction from high humidity and these tablets, as after under an hour, there were drops of a watery mixture at the bottom. So, excess moisture is being collected. Further, whether real or imagined, when placed in a small, confined area (underneath a sink’s cabinet, after a bit, the stink from the dampness was less. I am encouraged and look forward to the full lifecycle of the product, which I have no idea what that will be. I think the dehumidifier novel, however, I also think it flimsy, for instance, that plastic flap drawer did not want to close perfectly, and there is no handle on this, and the finish is slippery.ValueFor my wallet, it’s no bargain, however, pricing seems consistent with similar products in their product line.Criticisms and/or suggestion(s).Can this be made with less precautionary hazards. Avoid touching and inhaling. Keep away from children and pets. I wore gloves and goggles. As a gift?Maybe to a fellow RV’r or Boater, to let them give this a try. Otherwise, I don’t see this high on the gift wish list.No Microban?Microban is an antimicrobial product, it is reported to have a built-in active ingredient that enables products to resist the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold, and mildew. Bottom-line, it helps in keeping an area fresher than products without. I did not see this referenced as being a part of this.Country of origin? It appears to be Made in U.S.A.Bottom-line?I have excellent results with DampRid products in general. This product line is in keeping with that.I hope my thoughts added information.

Great if need a less messy and more attractive moisture solution
I am a huge fan of DampRid. We live on the southern coast of the US, and moisture is an issue. DampRid gets rid of smells especially in the summer in cabinets, bathrooms, attics, and other areas of our homes. It is very, very effective if you use the proper size for the room. I've always used the small containers and filled them with the large DampRid flake refills. This is a new concept from DampRid and I like it for my guest 1/2 bathroom. It's more attractive than the regular DampRid containers, and you don't have the mess of the flakes. They are not a huge issue for me, but if you want something more attractive, this is a good bet.I think this will be just as effective. I am a little unsure as to how this large cube will do over time, but so far, I'm very pleased with the look and since the brand has a great reputation and history with my use, I think giving it a try for better aesthetics in an area is worth it.

flimsy
This is a two part container-- a top that cradles a dessicant tablet, and a bottom piece to collect water. The top has a flip up bit to drop in the tablet, and the entire top detaches in order to dump out the water. It comes in a car board box-- it's up to you to figure out how to collect and store the spare tablets.I had a hard time removing the full top piece. And then getting it to securely reattach to its base. The tablet fits neatly into its cradles, but the swing up.bit doesn't close easily. This doesn't smell nearly as strongly as many DampRid products. No disgusting masking style perfumes.I just... don't exactly trust myself not to dump the collected water when it's time to change the whole thing out. Low confidence in the whole security of the assembly.

Helps absorb musty moisture in the air
I had noticed our shower area smelling musty, so we checked all around to see if we had a leak, but no leak was detected. Then my daughter complained about the musty smell, so I decided to give DampRid a try. It was easy to put together, and set in our shower area. I wish the top snapped closed but it just rests loose on the top of the container. I didn't notice any strong chemical smell when I set it up, but we all noticed that the musty smell started to lessen over time. It is collecting moisture, so I think it's doing the job as it should. I think it's a bit pricey, which is why I'm only giving it 4 stars. Otherwise, it's working, and I've had no problems with it thus far.
