Best mattress EVER
I umm-ed and ahh-ed quite a bit about buying this mattress. I'd been looking at different options - latex etc - and they all seemed mega-expensive. This one was nice and affordable, but it almost seemed too good to be true. Well, after using it for a couple of weeks now, I can say it's as good as I could have hoped for. It feels so lovely, and moulds into my body shape. It's an absolute joy to sleep on. I should qualify this: I've slept on the floor for many years, so I'm used to a firm surface to sleep on. But even if you're used to softer surfaces, you should get used to it quickly. Getting the pillow now!One thing to bear in mind - it's really heavy! Getting it up to the bedroom was like dragging a dead body up the stairs. (I never do this of course. Usually I'm dragging the dead bodies down the stairs).

Worth every penny
I have owned a buckwheat pillow for many years and swear by it. Its the only pillow I can rely on to ensure a comfortable sleep without having to fight and fidget for comfort with other products. I take it away with me when staying with friends to guarantee and comfortable sleep I get when at home. Currently, its the only pillow on my bed as it's all I need. I received a leaflet through the post which reminded me of the other products avail and was drawn to the mattresses and decided to make a purchase for a double one. Not cheap but when you receive yours you will understand why as the workmanship is extremely high quality. Very heavy product so you will need someone to help. I wouldn't say its a matress replacement but makes a perfect topper that will give you all the benefits of what the product is all about. I couldn't wait for my first night using it. At first, I was a little unsure as completely different feel to what I have been used to and thought it was very hard and wasn't 100% confident I was going to get on with it. Well after 1 night I love it, I woke up after the first night feeling amazing. I normally wake up with a sore back or a little stiff but when I woke up after night 1 sleeping on this I felt amazing. not one ache. When I woke up I felt so comfortable and the hardness I was worried about become a comfort. I know already that I am going to have many good nights sleeps on this and so pleased I purchased.

Really Happy at First! But Later, Disappointed.
Ordered this a couple of months ago after deciding I didn't want a spring-based mattress (metal disturbs our natural electromagnetic field), nor one which off gasses poisonous chemicals (foams, flame retardants etc.).I must say, this took a bit of getting used to, as my body was not used to such a firm surface, nor the quiet rustles of the hulls. I'm glad I persevered, because now I'm sleeping much better and less. No more brain fog and exhaustion in the mornings.Just ordered one for hubby :)Edited to add:This is a great concept, but unfortunately, very poorly executed. The hulls need to be firmly sewn with industrial thread into equally sized pockets or tubes in order for the mattress to keep its shape and hold up over time. There was no such workmanship here: simply a few stitches here and there linking the front and back calico fabric together. These break through general wear and tear, resulting in a floppy giant beanbag.Even when all the stitches were there, the surface of the mattress was very wonky due to the hulls not being distributed properly throughout the mattress. After a few stitches snapped, I would wake up in the morning with my hip grinding into the hard floor, with hardly any hulls beneath it. The hulls shift into corners, leaving the middle with barely any cushioning. Then the daily shaking of the mattress begins as we try in vain to distribute the hulls evenly. They break down over time. We bought extra hulls in an attempt to refill the mattresses (messy!). Eventually, we ended up having to dispose of both of mattresses. The hulls made great garden mulch and the fabric burns cleanly (except for the zip which goes to a landfill)!

A good alternative at a good price
I love the buckwheat bed and pillows. Once you get over sleeping on the floor... the benefits for you posture are amazing back problems seam to go away. I am quite a heavy person, so I have benefitted from its natural posture rebalance. Its a good yoga mat too. It keeps a neutral temperature throughout the seasons. Which is great my husband as he runs hot, he never got on with the very expensive memory foams for that reason also they collapse eventually and course back problems, ironic. Buckwheat is great for the environment, should the bed get spoiled for any reason, I could literally place it in the garden and grow plants from it. Win win.

Recommend
It came up a bit smaller than my double bed. And to be honest, I thought what have I done, how can I sleep on this it feels like a rock! I had a few sleepless nights trying to get used to it, but after I did, it is very comfortable, and I sleep very well now. So persevere if you buy this mattress. I recommend this to lay on top of a non toxic cheap mattress, otherwise pointless buying a non toxic buckwheat one. For ultimate comfort or on the floor. I have a buckwheat pillow too, that you also have to get used to, but if you have neck or shoulder problems, I recommend a buckwheat pillow too. You push it into the shape to relieve pressure where needed

This mattress is great. However
I decided to buy this mattress after discovering about conventional mattresses and wanted something more natural. This mattress is great. However, a word of warning if you are not used to hard/firm surfaces when sleeping this may take some time to get used to. I have placed some sheep skin on top to give a slightly softer surface but this is not necessary. I have a much better back and neck when sleeping on the buckwheat mattress. I also don't have blocked nose as much as when I slept on a conventional mattress. All in all if you want to convert away from toxic mattresses and look for something organic/natural and at a good price this is it!
