At long last Camel Productions is pleased to offer Pressure Points, Camel's much sought after video recording from 1984. Captured on tape at London's Hammersmith Odeon, Pressure Points contains 15 tracks. Guest appearances from Mel Collins on sax and the late Peter Barden's on keyboards. NTSC/Region 0/80 minutes. Hi-Fi Sound.

Flawed, but still enjoyable
This DVD is essentially a straight transfer of the VHS that's been around for ages. So on that score it's a bit of a disappointment that no extra effort was made to flesh out the offering with interviews, photos, bios, etc. But considering that most prog-related DVDs are done on small budgets it's no real surprise. The essentials of the video are solid, from camera work, sound, lighting, and recording quality, though don't expect a 5.1 mix or any other modern enhancements. And your mileage may vary when it comes to the theatrical elements that were slipped in, but I think they do a good job bringing the conceptual nature of the Camel album Stationary Traveler that this concert was supporting to the fore. The playing is excellent and it's nice to have a bit of Peter Bardens at the end, so all in all it's a nice slice from a period of Camel's history that often gets overlooked.

Great Band!
Not familiar with Camel? They are fantastic in every way possible! Great guitar by Andrew Latimer. Great lyrics by his significant other! They never disappoint!

Excellent
If I could I give it 6 stars. After 20 years I still enjoy this concert. I have watched it for hundred times. One of the best concerts I have ever seen.

Great music, great sound, great visuals .... buy it!
I first bought this as a VHS tape and am greatly surprised to see how well it has been transferred to DVD. If anything, it's better in all respects. The songs from 'Stationary Traveller' are well represented by intermixing performance footage with film-imagery based on the lyrics. There are now four Camel DVD's and all are first class, so don't be put off because this is an old release. It's as powerful and fresh as it ever was.
