Very quick lighting and very high energy content
Great Charcoal. Long burning and very quick to light using a chimney starter. Cooked a 3kg gammon and 6 jacket potatoes and used about 1.5kg of coal. When all cooked the coals were still full of energy. Likely the best briquettes I have used and I have certainly done a few bbq’s and tried different brands. From lighting to dropping coal to start cooking. 15 mins tops using a chimney starter. Very good product will easily handle a big old family bbq with a couple kg max

Braai away
I love this coal. Only one I buy to Braai or Bbq. Got two 10kg bags instead of 4x5kg bags suited me just fine

Okay charcoal briquettes for shorter bbqs
My expectations are potentially too high as I’ve just finished using 24kg of Weber briquettes, they burn hotter for longer, but the price reflects that. The issue with these Big K ones is they take an age to get hot in the bbq chimney (between 30-45 mins) and then only burn for another hour or so after, it’s alright if you are only cooking a small feed, but if you had a party for example I wouldn’t be that confident. Would I buy again? For the price, probably yes. The only proverb of you get what you pay for rings true here though.

It does the job.
This is sufficient for barbecue use, and at a very reasonable price.

Do not buy
Stay clear. Not Big K and not briquettes as described. Not even in separate bags !
