THIS IS EXCELLENT LETTUCE
It took me a while to get it started because of the weird spring/summer. I wanted to start it directly in my boxes outside and try a new method of dispersal...it worked - place a damp piece of kitchen paper on a piece of cardboard (old cereal box works well) - take a cocktail stick, dip it in water and pick up each seed and place it spaced as you want on the paper - once dry, slide the paper off the cardboard on to the soil in the box, or directly on the bed, spray lightly with water and cover with a little more compost/soil. This way they come up where you want them and there is no thinning needed - just fill in any gaps!! It was quick and easy and I have had lovely lettuce all the time!!

A excellent oak leaf variety
I particularly like. Quite robust to grow, and as a cut-and-come-again variety, adds colour, texture and flavour to a mixed salad. Long growing season and does well in most light conditions.
