Our favourite bedtime book
This is our favourite book. I love to read it, my husband loves to read it and when given two options our almost one year old always picks it.Little owl has fallen asleep and fallen out of the nest! Oh no! But don't worry, Squirrel is there to help find Little Owl's mummy, even if it takes a few tries! The art style is lovely and the animals very cute in it. The story is a great one, and perfect for making voices with little one, pointing to eyes and ears and making big gestures, and for getting a cuddle in at the end of the book.I can't recommend this book enough, and we are buying copies for all of our friends who are expecting babies soon

A simple yet hilarious story for your little ones!
My three year old daughter laughs every time this is read. Today she requested it approximately 7 times! 'A Bit Lost' is a simple story about a baby owl who topples out of her nest and tries to find her mummy with the help of some friends. There have been numerous stories that tell the tale of a baby animal looking for their mother. Where 'A Bit Lost' differs is that it surprisingly strikes a chord with my three year old and she is in fits every time my wife and I (and even the grandparents!) read it to her. I have not seen her so enthusiastic about a new picture book for a while now.The bold retro illustrations are akin to the children's programme 'Dipdap' - minimal, simple yet adept at eliciting constant laughter from my three year old...something that I thought such a simple book, with a simple, straight-forward story-line couldn't achieve. Based upon my daughter's response to this book, I can certainly see why it has won so many awards. A highly recommended book for your children's bookshelf!

Lovely on the inside, damaged on outside.
Liked the lovely illustrations and story. Disliked that both books received had the same damage to the owl and title on front cover. My first order was replaced at no extra charge which was great, but unfortunately my replacement had identical damage. Mail packages were both received in perfect condition. If you and your child can get over the sad looking owl on the front page it’s a lovely book. We also have “shh we have a plan” and “goodnight everyone” from the collection which are also wonderful.

Gorgeous Early Years book
Book was recommended by one new mum, as a gift for another new baby. Loved the illustrations and simplicity of the story.

Really lovely book
I love this book, as does my son and friends kids. It's a really sweet story, very similar to lots of other 'where's my mummy' themed books but the illustration is just beautiful and I love the final line in the book. The story lends itself to lots of hand gestures (big eyes, longs ears etc) which makes my son giggle and means it's a story I don't tire of reading.

Gorgeous story you don't mind reading over and over
Fantastic little story about a lost Owl and a squirrel who tries to help but keeps getting it wrong. My kids have loved this from about 15 months old and still read it at 3 years!

Lovely story, strange letter design
It's a great story, and I love the illustrations.I understand that the font / type is a design choice, and it is fun lettering, but as a children's book I find it not the best choice for a child who is looking at a book and learning to recognise the symbols as letters and words.

A very sweet story.
So simple and also so funny. I think I love this book a bit more that my 2 year old because the images are not as vividly bright as other books but she and I both enjoy the humour. Also, as a teacher, I think this book could be used with older children who are learning to write character descriptions to learn about the importance of detail to create a correct image in the reader's mind.
