Great device!
This device is great and I’m enjoying using it. The only issue I have is that you can’t listen to the high quality audio through Bluetooth. You have to record in the lesser format for Bluetooth headphones. The features help out a lot especially the app that goes with the recorder. The recorder is extremely sensitive and picks up everything. My son was speaking in another area of my house and it was picking it up. I have another recorder which I use to record with before purchasing this one and it doesn’t pick up like this one. So basically this one is great and I wish I had bought this one from the beginning. I ended up buying a small case for it and I already had a strap I could use on it. I also really like that it’s small and has so many features especially the live listen while recording. I know a lot of recorders have that feature so it isn’t anything special but it’s one of the features that was a must have for me. Overall I really like this recorder.

Great portable microphone
I've been using the LS-P5 for a while now, and I'm thoroughly impressed. The audio quality to me is quite exceptional. Whether I'm recording voice for videos or just recording ambient sounds, this mic recorder has delivered clear recordings every time. The sensitivity and noise-cancellation features ensure that I am able to capture everything that I want without any unwanted background noise. Its pretty sleek and user-friendly design, coupled with plug-and-play functionality, make it a breeze to set up and start recording within minutes. I sometimes attach is to my Olympus camera or handheld it to do my recordings. Whether you're a professional or just starting out like me, the LS-P5 is a reliable mic that will create some great audio recordings.

Meh
Not really sure how this qualifies for the price tag. While it is tiny and lightweight, it feels cheap and fiddly. The buttons are small the screen (resolution specifically) feels like 1990 Gameboy'esque.

Blown Away
I've been looking to upgrade from my Zoom H1n, which in itself is an excellent little unit for the price, and the OM LS-P5 more than meets my needs. I record my own music strictly for recreational purposes and I’m blown away by the fidelity during playback through my component system. I’ve only owned this unit for three weeks and I feel as if I’m only scratching the surface of what it can do. There are a ton of functions. You need to exercise patience and allow yourself ample time to process all the information. Start by downloading the complete manual. The manual that comes in the box is thick, but only a quick start guide published in every language on the face of the earth. The complete manual is available from the manufacturer’s support page and is 172 pages. It’s well written and should answer any questions pertaining to the recorder. If you need lots of file storage, it has 400 folders that can store 200 files per folder. You’ll need a SDHC card of course for anything beyond 16 Gb (it’s not included). I only need a few files since I transfer my music to my laptop for editing, but the LS-P5 can do its own editing, such as trimming and fading. You can even name your own files with the song title, artist, and album. With experience, I may end up using the LS-P5 exclusively. It checks all the boxes for me. The ability to overdub was a necessity. I can activate it with the press of a single button instead of having to press two buttons simultaneously like I did with my Zoom H1n. The bluetooth function allows me to use a set of headphones to monitor my recording wirelessly while adding a track without having to use a clunky cable. The bluetooth function does drain the battery quickly however, but it only uses two AA sized batteries. Two rechargeable batteries are included in the box, but I get better life out of the non-rechargeables. If battery life is an issue, you can purchase an optional AC adapter. You can adjust the recording angle from 20 to 180 degrees as well, which helps to reduce background noise. There’s one little drawback, I think the 5 band equalizer is only active in the playback mode.Overall, I’m very well satisfied with the quality of this little studio. If you’re familiar with pocket recorders, you should be able to catch on to the basics fairly quickly. It functions in a similar manner to my older ones like my Zoom and Tascam and I’m looking forward to discovering what else it will do in the coming weeks and months. I’m somewhat disappointed that it doesn’t connect to my Olympus E-M10 Mark III, but that’s no fault of the recorder. My Olympus doesn’t have the required audio input jack. My primary use is to create recordings of my own music, and the LS-P5 meets and exceeds that need.
