Saved my having to buy a new tripod
Saved my tripod after a house fire minus the mounting plate. Figured I'd have to replace the tripod but found this replacement on Amazon which came in a couple days and fit perfectly. Oh yeah, saved kitty, too.

Not for Davis & Sanford V18 First Generation
This quick release plate doesn't work with the original Davis & Sanford V18 Fluid Head. It works with the second version which has the number two in superscript after the 18.

Save yourself replacing the whole thing
This plate is a perfect fit. It's a little more stiff than the old plate, but in a good way. And it'll loosen up over time I'm sure. The camera isn't going anywhere.Our car was broken into recently and the thieves took 2 camera bodies with camera plates and a host of other gear worth a few grand total.Thankfully they didn't grab the tripod, but I wasn't going to try to claim "tripod plate" with the insurance. This has allowed me to keep shooting with an old body while we sort out the fiasco with the insurance.
