Not on par with other budget offerings on Amazon
This guitar sounds and plays fine after some setup, but distinctly feels like a budget instrument. The body is thick and blocky, but the mahogany does help keep the weight down - it's not especially heavy for a strat-style guitar in this price range. For all of the marketing copy about the inferiority of their competitors' ball-end stainless frets, the fret finishing on this guitar is probably the biggest pain point for me. The fret ends needed a thorough smoothing out, and the frets themselves are gritty feeling and poorly polished. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't have guessed that these were stainless steel frets at all.My other quibbles are that the control pots turn freely with nearly no physical resistance to them, and some loose sawdust fell out of the pickup cavities the first time I turned the guitar over. The trem springs are also much lighter tension than most, and the tuners and string tree are definitely on the cheap side. All in all, while the spec sheet seems fairly impressive, it's just not as good value as other similarly priced brands that can be had on Amazon.

good looking, very poor craftsmanship
Nut action at first fret too high, very sharp unfinished fret ends. High spots on frets in multiple locations. The back of the neck at the volute very rough, most likely this neck was never finished befor it was put on the guitar. Its a sample size of one, but I would steer clear of it unless you have the tools and the know how to remedy potential issues. Once I level, crown, dress the frets and finsh nut it should be an okay guitar. Both the EART & the M-Musi that I bought on Amazon are 5 out of 5 stars compared to the Boya&Ziqi.

Great guitar for the price, beautiful finish
I was hesitant to try an unknown brand but the pictures of the finish finally won me over. The guitar is well made and solid. It works and sounds great as is or can be an awesome upgrade project if you want to swap out parts. Intonation was easy to set but I did need to remove some burrs from the fret ends. Simple fix, less than an hour.Overall I'm very happy with the guitar. I might end up grabbing the other color as well (I ended up going with the blue one). The pros:The finish is absolutely stunning. The neck is very smooth. The tuners work well and are decent quality. The pickups sound good and the bridge and knobs are solid. Coil split works fine. The frets are polished and set well in the neck. The cons:The frets do have burrs on the ends. You will need to file them, but it is a minor fix. I've had guitars at a higher price point come in with the same issue. The box that the guitar is shipped in does not have an outer shell. My box had damage but fortunately it was where the Styrofoam was thickest so there was no damage to the guitar itself.

sloppy work
Apparently the company made a miss-cut on the veneer on the left of the neck pickup. They made a fill-in piece, that a blind person could see, and sent that guitar to me. Very poor quality control. The guitar sounds and plays OK, but for $300. you can buy a much better Ibanez. I am sending this right back.theythe
