A unique and irreplaceable talent!
Glen has been part of both my wife's life and mine since "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" in the 60's. He even sang her name at the beginning of her favourite "Wichita Lineman" at one of his many shows in Glasgow over the years. We could tell that something wasn't quite right for some time before the official announcement that Glen was suffering from Alzheimer's, but only by his demeanour - his singing and guitar playing were superb up until his enforced retirement. The last show we saw was in Nashville in 2012 at Fan Fair and he was superb albeit a trifle confused. This final album is a credit to Glen. His voice although a bit more ragged than before is filled with emotion and sounds great. The liner notes and individual song notes by Carl Jackson are both touching and illuminating. For me the highlight of the album is Glen's rendition of Carl's song "Arkansas Ploughboy" written about his early life. The additional CD featuring 16 of Glen's best songs is simply icing on the cake. Thanks for everything, Glen!

ADIOS, BUT NOT GOODBYE
This collection of 12 tracks was recorded in 2012, with the 47 second track by Roger Miller, recorded as an intro to the following song. Once they were recorded they were shelved and it was not until recently that Mrs Campbell decided that it was now a good time to set them free. With the help of long-time friend, Carl Jackson, they were `renovated`, which included inputs by Willie Nelson, Vince Gill and three of the Campbell children. The liner notes give us comments written by CJ after each track. All the words are included too. As you would expect the quality is here by the bucketload. Yes the voice may not be as it was, but he was 77 at the time of recording. As a bonus a second CD is included giving us another chance to hear some of his greatest hits. This collection shows us that the talent of Glen Campbell will never fade, nor should it ever be allowed to. Every recorded song sung throughout his long career, came from the heart, that is why his popularity with his fans never waned. His vocal ability seems now to be gone for good, but we have his music on record. Enjoy.

Good quality product
Good quality 2CD product. CD1 is some of Glenn's old songs & CD2 some of his new. If your old enough to remember Glenn in his prime this would be a good addition you your collection, and you get some new material as a bonus. Good value too.

Excellent
I am not a full blown country music fan but to think a lot of this was recorded with a serious debilitating condition makes the result all the more enjoyable. Finished by family and friends this is the final soiree of one of the greats. Not only is the main CD very good but the bonus greatest hits (reworked in some cases) gives the listener the inside to the legacy that remains. Much missed and loved, Glen leaves his mark on the planet for all to hear as his legacy. One to listen to when a few quiet moments are needed or on your own perhaps. A great buy overall.

Wonderful!
It's only in the last few years that I've caught up with Glen Campbell. Of course I knew the hits and thought they were ok, but I had never bought a copy. My first buy was Meet Glen Campbell. However, Adios is my favourite album of the year, constantly being played even before the sad news this week. I love the quality of the album, from the songwriting to the playing. Everything seems perfect with a high level of musicality. The perfection includes Glen himself. His vocals here for me are wonderful, with all his life experiences seeming to be used to great effect. The yearning and tone add to the great lyrics of many of the songs. My favourite track keeps changing, but I guess any of the Jimmy Webb songs are right up there. Wonderful album.

A fitting finalé to a glittering career.
As this was Glens final album I thought I'd order it. I could never have imagined that a few hours later they'd announce his death on the news! This made the album even more poignant. The Album itself is split into 2 CDs. The first being a lot of new stuff, some of it sung in partnership with other artists. It is a sublime tour de force and the final track on Disc 1, "Adios", turned out prophetically to be his last ever single.I was in tears listening to it after that sad announcement. Disc two is comprised of older recordings of his most popular songs and they are well chosen. Overall this is a fantastic final album and a fitting tribute to a great artist. Adios Mr Campbell, and thank you for your wonderful legacy.

Adios to a legend
The legend that is Mr Glen Campbell goes out with a great legacy to his name, if you’ve still got a dry eye after listening to the title track, you must be made of stoneHis last few albums were as good as anything he did years ago and the songwriting is up there with what Billy Webb wrote years agoHighly recommend and Glen is now part of that amazing band of musicians in the sky

Recomendado
a semanas de lanzamiento de este álbum muere Glen Campbell pero realmente este disco es una buena despedida, un material de los mas finos que produjo, canciones clásicas e inéditas con todo el sonido "Nashville"

Triumphant Exit!
Adios foremost has to be given credit to Carl Jackson. Inside the vinyl you get a lyric sheet, and the inside sleeve is printed with a story by Glen Campbell's good friend Carl Jackson. It explains the history between them and the making of Adios. Carl not only wrote the inner sleeve and song notes, but he is the producer and string instrumentalist for Glen Campbell's final well recorded album. He is the perfect producer for this project, because he also was Glen's bandmate for more than a decade. Adios was recorded in the fashion of Glen's excellence. It has a roster of top musicians including Vince Gill and Willie Nelson. This album is great because each songs boasts with some of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. Carl wrote "Arkansas Farmboy" a story about Glen's youth that is touching. Then you have songs written by Glen's dear friend Jerry Reed, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and none other than Jimmy Webb who has four great songs in this record. The last song on the album and the title track Adios is my favorite. How apropos to do a farewell song written by Jimmy Webb. As most of you reading my reviews you are more likely aware of Glen Campbell's state of health. His voice on his last recordings show no signs of weakness, but rather a heartfelt performance with his nuances that we all are accustomed to. It exceeded my expectation despite of his condition. This album shows the balls that Glen always had, and rather being a sad departing, it's shows a triumphant exit in the style of this rhinestone cowboy. We have Carl Jackson to thank for a great job. I would like to thank Glen Campbell for bestowing his God given talent of this earth since his debut album in 1962. "And I'll miss the blood red sunset, but I'll miss you the most...Adios???..."

adios Glen
RIP Glen - we love you - my little rhinestone cowboy!
