GenieEKCC Extends Your Chain Drive to Fit an 8-Foot-High Garage Door Compatible ChainMax Model 3022

Needed the 1 ft extension for our 8 ft tall garage door. Works well with the Genie 1000 chain drive opener.BUT it almost didn't work because a center beam in our garage prevented the Genie opener from fitting properly at the garage ceiling. Not enough room.Solution: Mounted/Reversed the Genie at 180 degrees on the ceiling rack. (Interior chain will still rotate in same direction.) Now there was enough room to use the 1 ft extension on our new Genie door opener. I've been really impressed at how quietly and smoothly our garage door opens and closes. A good choice of Genie chain opener with added 1 ft extension!

High price for couple pieces of tin and one foot of chain. The assembled rail flops around like a fish. Genie sells a one piece 8-foot rail to the “pro” installer. DIY folks with an 8-foot door end up with a 7-piece rail that bends and rattles. Error in step 11 of the instructions. “...until it meets the stop tab on the bottom of the rail”. Section C, pulley end, on my chain drive 3/4 hp does not come with a “stop tab”. Looks like Genie took a good rail and cut it into short pieces to fit the box.

Would give it a 5 star but the directions sent were old. Had to wait on hold for an hour to be told how the part connects.

wish I would have got it when 1st put up new opener

The bags containing the hardware and the chain master link to join the chains together were open, no parts, and the parts were not in the box. This retail box was put inside a generic shipping box and the parts were not in that one either. One day, this Genie might be a good opener If I can get everything to put it together!

Was exactly what I needed. Local stores did not carry this so it was great to get this part so quickly

Works very good been running for about a year no problems.
