Keep in mind, even though these washers are designated 5/8L, they are NOT 5/8" washers.
I have several old faucets in the house that occasionally need washer replacement. Well, I finally used up my supply of flat replacement washers. The faucets use an old style flat washer that appeared at first to be about 7/8" in diameter. So, I went down to the big box store and then to the big depot store and, oddly enough, was unable to find a match for the washer I needed. This was supposed to have been a simple purchase and a quick replacement job. With my curiosity piqued, I took a closer look and found a 5/8L stamped on the washer. It was definitely not a 5/8" washer, so I did some research on the Internet. Well, it turns out that old style washers had number and letter designations that had no standardization and did not explicitly indicate size. I was unable to find an "origin" story...nobody seems to know how these designations were originally established. They appear to be some kind of die numbering. And, believe me, these designation are all over the map. Here are some examples that I was able to find.DESIGNATION -- DIAMETER IN INCHES000L -- 29/64000 -- 15/3200 or 1/4S -- 1/20 or 1/4M -- 17/321/4(R) -- 9/161/4M -- 37/641/4L -- 19/323/8(R) -- 5/83/8M -- 21/323/8L -- 11/161/2(R) -- 3/41/2L -- 25/325/8(R) -- 13/165/8L -- 29/325/8L -- 15/161 -- 1So, my 5/8L washer was going to be either 29/32" or 15/16" in diameter depending on the manufacturer...sigh. I don't currently have an accurate micrometer so I wasn't able to mic the diameter of the washers I received, but they appear to be the right size for my faucets. They won't let me post any pictures for this product, but I received a plastic Danco bag containing five washers in original blue/white Danco packaging. I will update my review if I have any problems with these new washers. And finally, a couple of "buyer beware" issues. Not being quite sure what I would get, I ordered 5/8L washers from two different sellers on Amazon. The one I am reviewing now sent me five new Danco washers in the original blue and white packaging. The other seller sent me an unsealed plastic bag with five unpackaged washers, of which three appear to have some scoring. To their credit, the other seller responded immediately with a refund offer. Also, while searching the Internet, I found sellers (not on Amazon) that were advertising 5/8L washers as 5/8" washers...no telling what you would get if you placed an order.

Didn't work
The rubber is too hard. Doesn't give enough to close the valve. And it's outrageously expensive.

The listing stated there were 5 washers per order but ...
The listing stated there were 5 washers per order but only one arrived. A bit pricey for 1 small rubber washer.
