These struts work great! Great value and they really spring open. we'll have to see on the longevity. But you get two with your order, so we'll see. You just reuse the existing connections.

After looking up a video to see how to swap out one of the ends, this was not to difficult to install. It doesn't help that I can't open the lid on my Sentry Safe all the way due to where it is secured, but this part works great! I think it may open faster with this than with the original part.

These were easy to install and a good replacement for the original. I cannot say as to the longevity since they have just been installed

This is an ideal replacement for the piston in the Sentry Safe biometric pistol safe. It's the perfect length and has plenty of spring. You do need to exchange the hardware on both ends of the piston so that it fits and operates correctly.

First, you have to unscrew the top and bottom pieces and use the original ones on a Senty Safe.Otherwise it hits and doesn't close properly.The second problem I encountered was using the buttons on the safe. The strut is a tad too strong and causes it to jam when using the buttons.I am pretty hopeful it will wear in after a bit of use.The key works perfectly however.Mine is not a biometric safe so I can't say about how that works.Overall a much better option than the original but still with its own issues.I didn't ding the ratings because this isn't specifically for the safe and is a fully functioning strut.

I ordered this to replace the worn out strut on my SentrySafe ( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A75EVJO ). This was a very quick install - I just had to unscrew the ends on the provided strut (right side in photo), unscrew my existing strut, then screw in the new one. This is a very tight / perfect fit, so if you can't compress the strut for installing this way, you can also remove the old strut entirely, swap them, then reinstall using tools -- I just found that I could do it easily without any tools and it only took about a minute.Seems like the new strut is even stronger than the old one, but I can't be 100% sure as I've had the safe for about 6 years and the strut has been failing for the last 2. I'm glad the safe is back to springing open quickly!

So I purchased a Sentry Biometric Pistol Safe in 2015. For the last 2 years or so the old strut has given up the ghost, and the safe door unlocks but fails to open. I was prepared to purchase a new safe. But first I tried to find a replacement strut on Amazon. I stumbled across this one, and after reading the reviews, I decided to try this new strut first. The old strut comes out easily. Just unscrew the plastic ends off the old strut, and screw onto the new strut. Reinstall the same way the old one came out. DONE DEAL!!! I should probably get a few years out of the new strut, and I have an extra for when this one wears out ( 2 struts came in my order ). Very pleased!! 🙌🙌

Bought these to replace a gas strut in a SentrySafe gun locker, which stopped opening when the cheap default strut wore out, despite being barely used.This was perfect for the job, and a little stronger than the original. Plus I have a spare for the future now too.
