EllosWomen's Plus Size Snap Front Denim Tunic

I ordered this in usual size and I DROWNED in this shirt. So much so, it became a denim trench coat. This shirt is HUGE! I normally wear a 3X; I sized down to a 1X and it fit perfectly. On the 3X (I wear this as I'm 273lbs, 5' 3"), the sleeves went way past my hands and the bottom of the shirt was past my knees. On the 1X, the sleeves are perfect and the shirt bottom goes a little past my butt. On the 3X, I had room for me and a small child when the shirt is buttoned; on the 1X, the fit is lovely and flattering. I kept the 3X because it makes a nice, longer fall jacket, and when the sleeves are rolled up and the shirt is belted and adjusted, it makes a cute dress with tights. Beware that the sizes do run LARGE!!!

This ships from Woman Within, so it uses what I have come to find out is their "tents for everyone" model of sizing. I carefully measured myself before ordering - 50" bust, 45" waist, 53" hips - and ordered the recommended size of 2X. This was comically big on me. The hem came down past my knees, the sleeves were 5" past my fingertips, and I could wrap the shirt around myself 1.5 times. It wasn't even really a shirt, it was more like a denim duster.The indigo colour is also much darker than what is pictured, more like a deep navy blue.I'm sad because the construction and tailoring of the shirt are beautiful - it really is well made and well designed - it is just so oversized as to be ridiculous and will need to be returned.

I ordered it yesterday afternoon and it came first thing this morning! It does run large but not drastically as some reviewers have reported. I ordered a large in the darker denim, I normally wear a size 10, and it's comfortably roomy and loose as I expected it to be. I could have worn a medium and it would probably still be a bit loose, enough for a cotton turtleneck underneath without it feeling too tight. The material is a medium weight denim and is soft. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the snaps don't all have a clean snapping sound which worries me that they might come undone. I'm wearing it now with tights and boots and the snaps seem to be staying shut. I think this would be great with leggings, as a dress as I'm wearing it, layered over other clothes as a jacket, etc. I could wear a mid weight sweater under it and not feel constricted. If you want it closer to the body, I would order 2 sizes down. It's a good value for the money.

This design, infinitely practical, is based on the farm jacket worn by dairymaids & herdsmen. You may have seen its relative, made in light muslin, on British period dramas. Great pockets and built for ease of movement. Am glad I sized down a bit, though. Snaps and lightweight denim make a wonderful update. (Alas, I have no cows to milk.) Versatile as studio coverup OR partnered with leggings &summer dresses.

This is a well made item, quite long on my 5'4" frame, but perfect for leggings. It is long enough to be a dress for me, right above the knee. I am about a size 16 and it fits perfectly. A medium in this item is like an XL in regular sizes. My shoulders are broad and the shoulders are close on me but still just fine. Good fabric, pretty buttons. Can be dressed up with a belt or scarf or used as a jacket. The fabric is sturdy but should soften up nicely in the wash. I really like how this is made, with the pearl button tabs on the sleeves to alter the length of the sleeves. I don't really know how you could make this item more versatile. There is no stretch to the material. That is the only thing I would change, but I think the fabric is good quality.

I made sure to order smaller after reading the reviews. I am 5'10" with a pear/hourglass build and I usually wear a 1XL. I ordered a Medium in this product and it fits comfortably and looks cute and casual.

I was not impressed with the size being so large, so until you got it in the mail you weren't sure if it was going to fit or not. It is not true to size. Also it wrinkles really bad, so be prepared to iron it. I took it right out of the dryer and hung it up, but you need to iron it each time you want to wear it, unless you are ok looking like you slept in your clothes the night before. Not crazy about it. Too much upkeep, don't have time in my busy schedule to deal with it.

Bought this to wear with some print leggings. I've ordered many more items from Woman Within since. I'm tall and busty, I love that the Medium is 14-16 and fits the top while not being overly generous over my size 12 pants and leggings. All have been a perfect length and nicely constructed.
