IKEA BEKVAM Home Indoor Solidwood Step Stool (White)

Exactly what I wanted.

I purchased this step stool for my walk-in closet which was pretty much designed for a very tall person. I perused many stools from several sites and decided on this one because of the reviews and the looks. I wanted white, it had to be at least 19 inches, it had to be sturdy and safe. It did take me a good hour plus to put it together. It would be much easier with two. All the pieces and parts were included as well as the neat tool to put it together. Please refer to my notes on the instruction photos. It will save you some time. The difficulty I had was that the stool had to be put together loosely until it was basically put together and THEN you tighten everything down. I have arthritis in my hands so I had to save the last two screws for my husband to tighten down.I loved the way it looked! But I was concerned with safety. I am a retired nurse and a fractured hip from a fall is not worth an aesthetically pleasing step stool. I knew that I would probably be barefooted, wearing slippers or socks when I would be up this stool and all of these are a big NO. Safety first always. So I decided to add self adhesive non slip strips on the top and the step. I used 2 inch wide tape, cut two strips and cut each In half. I placed one strip on the step. On the top I placed two full strips and a middle strip. I know it takes away from the looks but I will be using that top step the most to reach the top storage shelves. Besides, it’s in the closet. I’m happy so I guess that’s what counts.

I saw this stepstool at an Ikea showroom last year, but it was out of the stock at the time. I was waiting patiently till they restock, but it seems like the U.S. Ikea stores won't carry this item any more. Shame. I really like it. Thou I must point out that building process is a bit odd. You have to hold several pieces together when screwing the bolt in.

Expensive for what it is…

Bought it for my daughter, love that it's high enough for her to reach the faucet. The only issue I have is that it's a bit slippery so be sure to put something on the bottom of the legs or always place it on top of a mat. It doesn't fold so if you're looking for a space saving stool, this isn't it.

It's exactly what I was looking for. A stool that can work as a bench and step to reach higher shelves. And the reviews about it being complex to set up I just don't get them. I put it together in less than 15 minutes with my 5 year old son.

We really like stool. The color blends well with our kitchen, it fits easily inside the pantry and is sufficiently tall to help me and my spouse to reach the top shelves effortlessly. Highly recommend it!

Sturdy and cute, perfect height to reach a few feet above and perfect width to fit away in storage. I'm not sure if it is a design flaw or what but this comes missing one piece, a backing piece to the step, which makes for complications when assembling. Someone else I know also purchased this same item in the Ikea store and had the same issue. But the stool is fine without the piece and it beats standing on a chair!

It’s a great stool but over priced for ikea product . I’m sure ikea didn’t charge over 100 for this stool. Other then that it looks great in my closet
