Perfect... almost
Retroflag make some of the best raspberry pi cases on the market. Great quality, solid and easy to build. Only down side is the micro SD card that comes with them. They usually work, but can stop after a few writes. Also, I'm a little confused as to why there is an HDMI to micro HDMI cable supplied. TVs and monitors use full sized HDMI ports, and so does the dock. Finally, for the GPi CASE 2 and 2W, do not use retropie as the patch no longer works. Use recalbox instead

To expensive for what it is
If you can get your hands on a Raspbery Pi congrats.

IT'S GOOD BUT BUY IT ELSEWHERE!
Been wanting one of these for ages but held off because of how hard the compute modules have been to get hold of. Finally got one so I ordered the GPi 2 yesterday. While the GPi case is great, it's definitely not worth the extra £30 for the cables and SD. Firstly the SD card is a fake that looks like a SanDisk but isn't. It has recalbox as an image, balena etcher to write the image, and what looks like an instructional video on how to do the flashing etc. The problem is the SD card is so terrible that I can't watch the video or copy it or the software to my computer. Secondly the card reader included is one of those 10p ones from eBay, and just like the ones from ebay, it doesn't work. Thirdly the included HDMI cable is a micro HDMI to HDMI. It would work great on a pi 4 but the dock that comes with the gpi2 requires a full size HDMI cable so it's unusable. Every single accessory that was included as an extra has either been broken or incompatible with the item it was sold to be used with. The seller has just cobbled this together with the intention of whacking an extra £30 on the price of the item with no regard to whether it will work or be suitable. Do yourself a favour and get yourself a GPi 2, just absolutely not from here.

Whatever you do, get a CM4 WITH WiFi/BT otherwise it's a headache
I finally got the emulators to work, but only with Recalbox as I couldn't upload the needed patches to RetroPie as I'm missing WiFi on my Raspberry model. Note that the new imager for Recalbox does NOT need any additional patches installed, as it now supports the GP2 case out-of-the-box... And Recalbox also comes with a shared drive that you can access both with the emulator and a Windows machine - So no need to emulate a Linux OS to get files on the gadget.Overpriced for what it is, but it was cool working things out - And it looks like the OG Gameboy, which was what I was after. It's good, but it's also a headache - if you can stand a bit of head-scratching, then this might be for you. Good lucking getting a Raspberry at the moment, which is why I had to bite my lip and get a wifi-less model. (Although more should be available sooner or later, so your mileage may vary with the model you can get)

I've bought 4: they *all* have dead pixels (stuck on bright blue)
The screen manufacturing quality is evidently poor, because every one of these I've seen or owned - 4 units personally - has had either a bright stuck (blue) pixel in the middle of the screen or even the bottom quarter of the bottom row of pixels entirely stuck on. The screen backlight also whines annoyingly all the time, and quite distractingly over about 40%. It's rather disappointing, because the unit otherwise feels excellent in the hand, on par with the original Game Boy, and the quality and function of the emulation is excellent.
