Small parts
We loved this toy at first, until today, when my 1-year-old somehow managed to get the circle shape stuck in his mouth. It's the perfect size to wedge behind your child's teeth, which is exactly what happened in the two seconds it took him to pop it into his mouth during supervised play. The five minutes which followed were some of the scariest moments of my life as I tried to get that shape out of my son's mouth while he screamed and choked on his own saliva and blood (as said circle shape had started to cut into the roof of his mouth at this point.) Finally, we were able to get it out of his mouth and the whole thing immediately went in the trash. As parents, I think we often fixate on choking hazards and to be fair, the little sorting shapes which come with this aren't small enough to swallow. But they are certainly big enough to get trapped in your baby's mouth. I hate leaving a bad review here as this was my son's favorite toy before today. But I can't in good faith recommend this to another parent for fear they'll have to endure the same horror I did.

Choking hazard!!!!
Cute concept but NOPE! The shape pieces are significantly smaller than the bonus shapes that came with it. My 12 month old got the circle lodged in his mouth right behind his teeth! Luckily I was there to immediately get it out…I had to open his mouth a little wider just to be able to pull it out. All the other shapes are the same diameter and can also be placed easily in mouth..small shapes went straight into the trash but I kept the bigger pieces inside so he can pull them in and out the toy

LOTS OF FUN AND LEARNING
Purchased for 13mo granddaughter. She loves it. Lots of learning, and different thigns to learn with this as she gets older. Don't listen to the alarmist's review about choking hazard. There are 4 smaller pieces that fit into the shape-sorter section of the cube. They are not too small for a young, supervised child. Too big to go down their throat.

Possible choking hazard
There were two sets of blocks included with this toy. One set was bigger and a good size however, the second set included was a smaller set of shapes. My grand baby put the entire shape in her mouth. Could she swallow it? No. However, I did have to dig in her mouth to pull it out. So please be cautious.

Not made for 12 month olds!
My grandson got one of the smaller shapes stuck in his mouth and I had a hard time getting it back out. He couldn't swallow it but it was really wedged in there. Very scary for him and me.
