My buddy had brought this over one day to find an AC leak in my car (using UV dye). We found the leak pretty easily once the night had come. Realistically I thought, I'm not going to bother buying one of these... when else will I need a UV light? I'll tell you the answer is two-fold... finding areas that need a little more cleaning; and seeing what "glows".While I joke about the "does it glow?" game (where you aim it at various, non-living, things to see if it glows) you should see this thing find grease and other dirty spots in the kitchen. This is particularly useful around the stove where grease can splatter, but not necessarily show up on expensive cabinetry. I'm not an expert with grease and it's damaging effects (if any), but I know over years, the accumulations can make it next to impossible to remove. The light finds it quickly. It'll also show soap residue if there was any excess left on.Mine did come with 3 dead LEDs (leaving 48 active ones). I was issued a full refund by the seller and didn't even ask for one. I did check though, and these leds are soldered into a PCB. If you have any soldering skill whatsoever, these LEDs are a breeze to replace. Just order a pack of UV LEDs online and replace them as they go out. Honestly though, with only 3 out, I'm not going to bother. It works just fine for me.

This was super cool when i first got it. I had moved into a new house in the middle of the desert and couldn't believe the amount of scorpions i saw with this light..Yikes..it really was great and 1/2 the price of similar uv lights..but after a month or two the top wouldn't screw on right and things started to rattle inside and the leds' aren't nearly as bright..it just seems kinda wonky now, but it was awesome for a few months, i guess you get what you pay for and it was well worth my 8$ , i just wish it would have been a bit more durable because winter is over and I know those nasty critters are going to be in full force.

I am an AZ resident, and need to sweep my yard for scorpions. I bought this little guy because of the almost too good to be true price, and it did not disappoint. It outshines my smaller and more expensive black light. This is one of the best values I have ever gotten.And as an added bonus, it got here a week prior to the Amazon estimated delivery.

The uv lightworks great, I put my name on some of my objrcts with a uv felt tip pen, it is invisible and if someone steals them, I can e lightprove it is mine!!

super bright and great for carpets too so you can see where the shampoo didn't work. Not sure about the scorpions because I couldn't find any so either I don't have any and yay I am lucky or it didn't make them glow.
