Q: Is the signal only increased by tubes or does it use transistors as well?

I looked at a circuit board image from a listing on EBay and it appears that it is a hybrid device, with the tubes acting as a buffer after the amplification is done with JRC2068D op-amp ICs. It looks like the signal path goes: Turntable in -> RIAA circuit -> Hybrid amp where the signal goes int the op-amp and then is passed to the tubes -> output.

Q: Does this process(mess) with audio, or is it just sets the gain higher? Plan to connect my dac to this.

I bought for my old turntable to play vinyl. It sounds great, but I don’t know how much the tubes really affect the power amp that provides the actual power.
