Stainless Steel Double Boiler Pot for Melting Chocolate, Candy and Candle Making (18/8 Steel, 2 Cup Capacity, 480ML)

I've been using this double boiler for the past week, and it's great! I've melted caramel for ice cream and soy wax for candle making. The heat distribution is excellent and I've had no issues with scorching or uneven melting. Also, the handle stays cool and the size of the double boiler fits perfectly in my bottom pots. Overall, this reliable and well-made double boiler is perfect for my cooking and candle making needs.

Too small

This is a solid stainless steel double boiler. I use it for making salves and balms and it works perfectly and fits perfectly inside another pot. This is way better than using any other makeshift item as a double boiler. I like that it is easy to clean, easy to hold when you are taking it off the heat, and it fits a good amount of material.

Comes clean after use: I've read that whatever is used for melting wax for candles is basically not usable for anything else after that. I used this double-boiler to melt soy pellets, bees wax ,and items for diy lotions, and with hot water and a good dish soap (I use DAWN) it comes clean everytime. Initially, with the soy wax, I was a little worried about it coming fully clean but I took a chance anyhow, and I found that really just wiping it out before the wax dries is helpful, and then hot water and dishsoap worked. There has been no evidence left of wax residue. The double-boiler is stainless steel so I feel it's very durable and won't just fall apart.It worked well for my melting purposes. It is a fairly good size for small batches, and comes clean. It's a simple product that I've found to be handy when I diy! All win-win for me. I'd recommend this product and buy it again when the time comes. I might go a little larger next time though. I believe this one is around 4 cups.I've only had it for a few months so not sure how it will work long-term, but since there's no coating on the finish, and it's stainless, I anticipate it will last for quite a while.Also, soy and bees wax are more natural products so maybe other waxes would have a different result.

Little smaller than I thought it would be but still good quality

Unfortunately, my double boiler came broken. The handles are very frail and one of the sides of the handle had detached from the actual boiler itself. It appears that it was packaged broken already. There's not a lot of soldering there, so I'm not really sure how to fix it or even if it's fixable. I don't think it is. So this double boiler is one unit, it's the unit that attaches to the actual pot or pan you're going to use from your home. It's not a two-piece like I was thinking. Honestly, I have never used a double boiler before so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. It was a lot smaller than expected, however. I was using it to try to make a natural homemade lotion with goat milk. It worked for that purpose, even with the handle detached. But the lotion and the beeswax and everything became too heavy for it. I like that you can pour from the side, that was handy. Overall, this is a one-piece item, the handle was detached, and it was smaller than I expected.
