Genuine Leather Adjustable Artist Piano Bench Stool in Walnut with Music Storage

This is a really nice piano bench. It's very classy and very sturdy. Feels like it will last for years. The cushion is firm but very comfortable. It compliments my little spinet beautifully. It's easy, although a bit time consuming to adjust the height. Of course I -being 5'2- don't really use that feature. It's easy to assemble and even includes a wrench to tighten the legs onto the bench. Assembly instructions were not included but it's really simple to figure out. Takes 10 minutes to put together, tops. The color doesn't match the picture. Both the wood and especially the cushion are more reddish brown, which I think looks nicer. There's a surprising amount of storage space because the underside of the lid is concave. You can stack books and sheet music 2 1/2 inches high, I measured. The one possible negative thing, and someone else mentioned this, the storage compartment is paper lined on the bottom. I don't mind, it doesn't look bad at all. At this price, you might expect velvet. The underside of the lid is velvet lined. Lovely bench, decent price, you won't be disappointed. In case you're wondering, there is no skirt to hide the lifting mechanism so the mechanism will be exposed if the seat is raised. This is a great bench for the price, comfortable. The leather is good. The color matched my rosewood piano pretty well.

Quite nice looking, though some parts are cheap looking. The cushion is not completely square, there are a few small blemishes (missing or rough stain) on the top, horizontal surfaces of the legs, and the inside of the storage compartment is very cheaply finished. However, so far it seems very strong and stable, the adjusting mechanism works smoothly, and the imperfections are invisible from a small distance or hidden, as it is the case for the storage. There is no way to tell at this point how it will hold up to use (I've only had it for a few weeks) but, at this amazingly low price, I am not worried. At this price, I can afford to replace it if it gets beat up from moving it to various venues or becomes loose or overly worn. You could easily pay four or five times this much for a very similar--though more perfectly made--leading brand. I bought the leather version and I am not absolutely convinced that it really is natural leather but cannot say it isn't, either. The colors of the different parts are much more uniform than on the photo. They have a definite reddish hue, the wood is highly polished, and the cushion is polished, too. Looks great with walnut, chestnut, and other reddish-brown wood tones.

Overall it's a very nice piece, the mechanism for raising the seat seems sturdy and easy to use, but it does appear that the "leather" that was advertised is pigskin and the material underneath the seat Is some synthetic material. At least that's what it appears like to me.

I debated for some time the various artist benches offered by CPS Imports. Finally decided on this one and very pleased with it. My main purpose was to have bench that was comfortable compared to my old wood bench. This one is extremely comfortable. It was easy to assemble despite lack of instructions, however, some reviews indicated it came with a wrench but mine did not. Fortunately I had a set of allen wrenches to tighten the bolts. As others have pointed out there is not a lot of room for music in the bench but because of its hollow top there is bit more room than it seems at first. For me I still have my old bench in which to keep most of my music. I use this with my cherry finish Steinway Grand piano and despite the glossy finish on the legs and the different wood stain it complements the piano and if I ever wanted I could sand the finish and redo in cherry. That was my plan but after seeing this bench with my piano that is not a near term project! The adjustment mechanism works fine and will be a help for my grandchildren. For me the bench is already at the perfect height.

Around Christmas I was given a black adjustable piano stool for one piano. It was so comfortable and worked so well for my many hours of practice that my husband bought me a second one for my second piano. Not only are these benches comfortable and adjustable, they look good as well. They are sturdy and versatile. They were delivered earlier than they were promised.

The quality and build quality are stunningly good for the price. Sturdier than the K&M bench that it replaced. The leather smells like furniture, no trace of chemical-like smell. Time will tell how well the leather holds up to wear. The storage area is rather shallow, but that's not the bench's primary purpose.
