Best lube I have found for my road bike, drivetrain wear is minimal, almost NO cleaning needed
I have used White Lightning Clean Ride Original Wax on my classic touring bike for years. The 3x9 speed drivetrain lasts several years (thousands of miles), no chain “stretching” detected. I apply it generously after any long ride, and never wipe it off. It flakes off as you ride, taking dirt with it. So, the chain and gears are never completely clean, but never dirty enough to cause much wear. Maybe once a year I will remove some excess wax. I ride the old touring bike pretty hard, including some miles on stone dust rail trails. Unfortunately, White Lightning wax has some limitations. It is not good for wet or below freezing conditions. I don’t use it on our mountain bikes. I use a “wet” lube for dirt trail riding. The mountain bike chains need replacement every year, we barely get 1500 miles of use. And the components require more cleaning and degreasing. In conclusion, if you have a bike mainly used in dry, above freezing conditions - White Lightning Original Wax is the best choice.

Works like a charm
Need a touch of maintenance every week or so if efficiency is a concern but overall great stuff.

Simply the best value
This stuff is the best lube. I bought this size in hopes that it would help me keep my fiance's bike, my bike, and a few friends' bikes well lubed and maintained. In combination with my tool set, I think this shouldn't be an issue.Take note that when you buy this, it does not include anything to dispense lube onto the chain very well. If you don't have any kind of bottle, just purchase the small bottle of clean ride, and use this lube to refill it. Works fine for me.Always make sure to shake before application. This lube is not meant to last forever, but it goes on smooth, keeps the chain from getting too much buildup, and keeps the ride smooth. One more recommendation - I personally clean my chains thoroughly every 4th or 5th application (of course with wipe-down cleanings in between). If you're going to clean a chain, I'd recommend using boiling water, degreaser, and your normal method. Water does not work well on its own, and hot water works best for cutting grease, along with some simple green or other degreaser. Degrease and clean the chain, let it dry, apply lube to each link, let that sit for 5 minutes to work its way in, then wipe excess off. Chain like new!

Great road bike chain lube!
This is still the best all-around chain lube I have ever found. I lube after every ride, typically around 50-70 miles. I got 15,000 miles out of my last KMC road bike chain before it reached the stretch limit as measured with a Nashbar chain gage, and it was still working fine. Original sprockets still on the bike with 24,000+ miles on them and they look just like the new replacements I bought expecting to have to replace them at 10,000 miles. This stuff is The Best! And, it keeps the chain clean and attracts very little dirt to stick to it. So nice, if you have to change a rear flat, to have very little black gunk on your hands. I am on my fourth jug, using it to refill two 8oz squirt bottles which I use to lube the chain. You get 4 refills for less than the price of 3 new 8oz squirt bottles from one of these jugs. Strongly recommended.

Keeps chain lubed and clean
Easy to apply, lubed chain and wipe excess off with towel. Reapply needed at 50 miles.

My go to chain lube now.
I used to wax my chains using a crockpot, paraffin blocks, and some Teflon powder until I tried the Clean Ride stuff. I had read about this on bike forums, but figured it was the same as the rather tedious cleaning of chain with mineral spirits and/or sonicator plus Simple Green and isopropanol. Yes, they both are wax based, with Clean Ride being wax suspended in heptane (pretty sure). Clean Ride still calls for a solid cleaning of chain before initial application, but after that it is just reapplied, resuspending and washing off the dirt on the chain. Certainly much easier than the clean and wax method u was previously using. Not a “green” solution, of course.Like paraffin, Clean Ride will not give you a perfectly clean chain. At least not if you are riding a good distance. I can still get chain marks in my legs and hands from either method. But they are both much less messy than oil based lubricants. I tend to wipe the chain down before reapplying Clean Ride as it helps in removing a good portion of the accumulated gunk on the chain. And rain will wash it out quickly, so reapplication is required after rain.Since I ride 20-40 miles per workday, I end up applying Clean Ride about once a week. I first remove the chain using a quick link and give it a good wipe down with a rag, sometimes dampened with mineral spirits, then unroll that’s chain onto an old portion of my rotting deck rail (soon to be replaced) and apply using the initial small dispenser bottle I refill with the big jug reviewed here. The dispenser bottle is key (and ample mixing), as it lets you apply it drip by drip to each link. Or as close to drip by drip as patience allows. Then let the carrier evaporate or wipe it down with a rag once more and repeat (if OCD). You can apply it while on the bike, but I find it makes a bit of a mess, dribbling onto my wheels and tires if the angle is off.As far as refilling the dispenser bottles, I use a small funnel after prying off the dispenser cap (which can be tricky as you don’t want to damage it). Shake the heck out of the big jug and carefully pour in the suspended lube. It’s not perfect as my chains do seem to get noisy earlier than the old paraffin method, which is usually my signal of when a chain is in need of reapplication or swapping out with a pre-lubed chain. I find keeping a few chains ready to go works for when I am lazy or it is raining outside. As noted, this is not my go to chain lube. Yes, it is a bit tedious to have to reapply, but it beats oil lubes and their mess.

Clean even in sandy Florida.
I use this on my Gravel bike in central Florida. Even in wet conditions it sheds the sand very well and I don't get the grinding sound I get with other lubricants. It really does come in a jug so make sure you have an applicator of some sort. After each ride (if I'm in the sand) I spray down the drive system and then use a rag to dry and clean the chain. I then apply the white lighting liberally and let dry overnight. I wipe it down thoroughly before the next ride. It is way cleaner than anything else I have used and provides excellent lubrication.

Great product
I have been using clean Ride for the past 10 years, and I love the fact that keeps the chain in good shape and the rest of bike clean.I check the wear of my chains regularly and managed to get 5k kilometers + out of them, making the sprocket last 25k kilometers.Yes, you have to lube every 2 to 3 rides (100 km rides).
