I picked this up for my son for Christmas this year. He's got a small channel on YT and he's getting into vlogging. I've got several Comica mics myself (kind of a fanboy, here) and I really like the quality. This kit comes with the VM10 shotgun mic which is what I used to use as my main microphone. There's a lot to like about this.The Good:VM10II Mic - This is a very good little shotgun mic. I reviewed it by itself a while back. It is my go-to travel mic, and I really like it.Ball-Head - The ball-head mount is very rugged. It holds in place well and has full rotation to get just the right angle.Phone Clip - This thing is HUGE. Can easily hold a phone with a case. I tried it out with my son's phone with the extended battery case and it fit just fine. That's really awesome.The Meh:Tripod - It's a mixed bag...As a tripod, it is great. It's sturdy and has a wide footprint. As a hand-held, it's kind of bulky. I do like the shape of it, though. It fits my hands just fine, but it is girthy. Nice texture, too...Not gonna slip.Overall, this is an excellent kit for a teenager or a budding vlogger. My son is going to really enjoy it. The mic really does a great job of picking up whatever it is pointed at without a lot of ambient noise. Will do just fine outside, for sure.

This vlogging kit really does it all - it's a decent mini tripod for a DSLR, plus you can add on the mobile vlogging rig.The microphone a big improvement to the built in mic on my iPhone and camera, and works with both (note for newer phones without headphone jacks you will need to buy a dongle, not included in the box).The ability to shoot both vertical and landscape is fantastic. I will note that the ball head joint can be a little stubborn, and the tripod being so light compared to a phone or camera means that in the vertical position, the rig falls over. Therefore vertical video can only really be shot handheld, unless you weigh down the other side of the tripod.The bespoke travel carry case is a huge plus - very convenient and well-padded - I have a lot of confidence in nothing breaking even if handled roughly in the case!
