Annual requirement
I get a pair of these every year. They are so fantastic for what I use them for. Urban walking and trail walking and yard work in rainy pacific north west. I've NEVER had wet socks and i've tromped around in all kinds of nasty weather with them. Great traction and support to in adverse conditions. I have a different pair of oboz for serious hiking but these are my every day shoes from October - April. I also do a ton of yard work in them. The rubber cover over the toes and the robustness of the sole are my favorite parts.

NARROW!!
Really wanted to like this shoe.Bought them as an all around daily wear. Bought them in the "wide" size as that's what I find most comfortable. They are more narrow than a pair of regular width Keen composite toe hikers I bought for winter wear. I upsized the Keens by half a size to compensate and kept that same size for these shoes in "wide". Didn't work. They are very narrow from the arch area up to the base of the big toe. Have tried everything to stretch these shoes including leaving them in an actual shoe stretcher for several days while using good quality shoe leather oil to soften the leather up so they'll stretch. Results were minimal at best and the shoes can only be worn for short periods before the foot pain becomes too much to continue.$145 down the drain.

Great arch and ankle support
This my third OBOZ purchase, i now have three different style shoes. Slip on low for daily use, the higher slip on winter boot and now these. I have been plagued with Plantar fasciitis for months. These shoes provide great support for that condition and ankle support. The laces pull up evenly and smoothly and actually stay tight. They hug your heel and ankle support if nice to have. Every OBOZ show i bought so far is stiff out of the box, but they are built to last. I am 6'2" and well, not a light weight. I sharing a little more personal information than normal, but for any body that reads this and says it sounds like them, these are the shoes to buy. I like the lazy slip-ons but these lace up shoes give super solid footing and support.

GREAT quality, long lasting, comfortable
Had my first pair of the Firebrand version of these for over 3 years - actually still have them, but they are starting to "leak"! :-) ..... got a replacement pair of shoelaces free from Oboz a few month ago, but needing a half size longer and wide with due to some onset of arthritis in my feet. These new ones are working great! Also got their "big brother" the Bridger hiking boots ...... equally good.Oh, one downside - they don't have the loop on the heel to help you get 'em on! The Firebrand, and most other models of their shoes do. WHY? Had to break down and get one of those old fashioned "shoe horns"! Those loops are one of my "conditions" for buying shoes / boots. Tried a different model of each of Oboz's WITH loops, but liked these better, so bit the bullet. Happy, but would be happier with "the loop"!!!!

Good stiff, light hiker
I have always worn heavy hiking boots with steel shanks. They provided great support and protection for the hikes I used to do. However, I don't do those hikes anymore and needed something that was lighter but would still provide good support for my feet. I saw the description and reviews for these Oboz Bridger Low boots and took a chance. The first impression was that these things are stiff. I mean, really stiff. They felt more like road cycling shoes than hikers and I hoped they'd loosen up a little. After the first day the foot insole molded to my feet and they loosened up a little. After about 10 or 15 miles of use, they're still a little stiff but not so much that you can't use them as daily shoes. I've used them in the office and on dirt and road walks and they're working fine. The cleats/outsoles are pretty rugged and, in my opinion, relegate them more to trails and hikes versus daily wearing on concrete. If you're looking for something to wear around the office or wear on hard surfaces, there are probably better choices. With that said, I am using them daily. The toe box width is good and gives me lots of room to move. I can't attest to their waterproof ability. They're low hikers so regardless, if you're out on the trail, water will likely seep in from the ankles. That's not a knock on these Oboz but is just a reality to the type of boot it is. I wear an 11 and these fit fine but there's not a lot of extra room. I won't wear thick socks with these...they're summer hikers. Wearing mid-weight hiking socks was ok. Again, the 11s fit almost perfectly but don't leave a lot of extra room for thick socks. Regular crew socks just about fill these out without getting tight. The heels fit fine and don't slip. I have high arches and these feel fine. I have little foot fatigue when worn on long walks/hikes of 6 or 7 miles (so far) whereas other shoes will leave my feet tired. I got the Dark Shadow and my wife says they look good so they get style points. They're not cheap but, if they hold up, they are a really good option for the person looking for a stiff, light hiker.

Overrated
Where do I start.. This is my first pair of Oboz. I have owned Columbia, Merrell, Keen, and Saloman all have been comfortable and acceptable for there purpose. I wanted to try these as I liked the look of them. That is where my love affair ends. They're very stiff but they are leather so maybe they need broke in, but they are so uncomfortable I don't know that I can wear them enough to break them in. For the record not all leather requires breaking, in some are great from day one, not these however. The soles are absolutely horrendous walking on concrete or wood floors the clack like a high heel shoe and as you can imagine being that hard they have zero traction or grip. It's like having hard plastic strapped to your feet. There is no way I would hike in these my guess is it would be dangerous and the first time I slipped I would say " you dummy, you knew better." Give me Vibram I guess or something with some grip.. I had to really plan my foot placement stepping on to the plastic foot platesl on my truck steps. The heel is narrow as advertised but a little uncomfortable too. I do not have wide feet. They have no loop to help you cram your heel in the narrow heel. I did keep the as they look nice but I doubt I will ever buy another pair of Oboz.
