Wicked Awesome mindfulness book!
I love this book! and have gotten copies for some of my friends. I’ve read a few books on mindfulness and this one is, by far, for me the very best for easy to understand, practical instruction. It explains clearly and simply what mindfulness is and why it is so helpful not only to help battle anxiety and stress but also how mindfulness practice helps generally with life and how it helps sharpen focus in every day life. Andrew knows his stuff! I very highly recommend this book!

Great place to start if you experience dissatisfaction. stress, or existential anxte.
I found this to be a wonderfully accessible introduction to mindfulness practice and how it helps living with stress and anxiety. The Buddha's teachings are medicine for human suffering, and at the core of our dissatisfaction is stress and anxiety. Andrew Safer brings these teachings into our current experience of the world which is changing more and more rapidly. He engages us with stories of people just like us, facing issues we all face, and shows us how to go from our current experience of ourselves and the world to a healthier and happier existence. He writes in a voice of someone who cares about us and offers tools to help.Unlike self-help books that might help us lose weight, or help us to keep an active mental life, this book does not deal with peripheral matters. It is medicine to treat the core source of our unhappiness.

Too much unnecessary contents
Please ease the text. I have a hard time just to go through the first chapter. There is too many figure of speech, adjectives, metaphor and unnecessary reference and example. It makes it hard to follow. I get lost and I have no clue where he is going and what he is trying to say. I personally found this book heavy to read. Within 10 pages there is a whole page about his own stock experience (in details) and reference to a movie from 1978 that I don’t really care about just to say that sometimes in life we are incertains and anxious and we struggle with so many things at once and mindfulness could help us ease that pressure. If the author was lecturing in front of me I would simply ask him to go straight to the point.I’ll probably never finish this book.
