Love this microphone
It met my needs by improving my sound quality on Zoom calls. In addition, its easy to balance music with my voice using the AUX.

Pretty Good Overall
I like the prestine sound, good size, and connection options—but there's one thing. A not-so-good thing. If you're blind like me or have difficulty seeing, you probably will not notice the light that comes on when mute button is pressed. If you're monitoring with your headphones, though, you will still hear the audio, even if it's muted.Believe me, it's not fun to do ten minutes of recorded audio just to realize that you were on mute.

Nice for podcast or voice recording work
Very nice quality microphone with a built in desk stand. Easy to set up and use with a PC and a really nice option to record audio for a podcast, live stream, or even vocals for singing. I wouldn't use this primarily for singing vocals but it's one use for it if you are an eclectic person who talks and sings. The controls are very clear and the microphone section has gain controls, polar pattern and a quick mute button right on the top for quick access. The base has volume controls and a VU meter for both input and output and will let you know when the signal is clipping. There is a dedicated headphone jack as well as an aux in for music or sound effects and that has its own dedicated volume adjustment. The quality of everything is very nice and it has a good feel to it. Not quite professional, but I'd call it prosumer. Better quality than a lot of the mics marketed for home use, but not as nice as the much more expensive professional mics from Shure, Heil, and other brands that also require a separate interface to use.Audio quality is great. The closer you can get to the microphone, the better it sounds and I'm taller so I found that placing the mic on a box to get it closer to my mouth helped improve the recording quality significantly. Most people can just place it on a desk and talk into it and it will sound just fine once the gain levels are adjusted. This mic does a pretty good job of rejecting hisses and pops, some people may need to add a pop filter to help it out a little. Polar pattern is also important and I prefer supercardioid for voice recording since it's more focused and rejects ambient noise a bit better. The best thing about this mic is how easy it is to plug in and use. Just select it as an input in Windows and you are ready to use it. It does work for gaming and the headphone jack is nice to hear yourself with no audio delay. For the price and features included, I'm very happy with this mic and I think Mackie has created an easy to use, high quality microphone for podcasters, streamers, and people getting started with voiceover work. The selectable polar pattern allows you to place it in the center of a room of musicians and do a quick and easy live recording for demos or to record ideas. I am only using it to record spoken audio and for video meetings, but it's very clear and I like how it looks on my desk.

Quality meets Form
This is quite a powerful desktop microphone that will allow any content creator or musician to upgrade there audio quality. Powered by the Mackie Quality, the Chromium is truly a powerhouse of a microphone. It features the ability to mix in an 1/4" Instrument output. It is pretty awesome to have the ability to plug in an instrument or even PC output directly to the microphone to be able to mix with more control. The microphone also has gain control directly on it as well. The Chromium has 4 different patterns; steroe, cardiod, bi-directional, and omni. This allows the Chromium to be quite versatile and to be used in a number of different scenarios. With the headphone monitoring built in you can ensure that your voice sounds good and is perfectly blended with the instrument. The only downside of the Chromium is that it is only desktop only. It can not be attached to a boom mic, and this is because of the mixing controls that are built into the stand. However the stand is very high quality and does a good job of acting like a shock mount for the microphone. Lastly, the USB-C connection is great and I just feel like the overall quality of the components is top notch.I can't reiterate enough how great this sounds compared to my previous microphones. Very professional sounding, recording a rich wide sound space while keeping out background noises. I am very happy with how this sounds while I stream and presenting to work. While it may be on the more expensive side for USB microphones, it is completely justified.
