There’s not much to say about this item. It’s well made, exactly what I’ve been looking for, it’s beautiful and it feeds my insatiable need for all things copper!!

The quality of this saucepan is fabulous BUT what the description doesn't say is that the base of the pan is totally roundedlike half a football and hence it is impossible to sit on an electric hob or even a gas hob with a recess. Not sure how you could cook anything with it unless I'm missing something! That said, when I discovered it would present an insurmountable problem, it was not problem returning the item to the suppliers in France and getting a full refund including the Parcelforce costs. Well done for that but I guess they realised their error in not fully describing the item. Had it had a flat base it would have been 5*

I have loved fixing zabaglione for years, but lost my copper pan and could not get the same result without it. This pan is a replacement for my old pan is even better. It is durable, has enough thickness to distribute the heat from some boiling water in a two quart sauce pan beneath it, and is just the right size for 2-4 servings without overflowing. I love the Sicilian Zabaglione Recipe (Google it) for a three minute prep that has never failed to wow guests. The pan is also quite beautiful, and my wife is going to hang it on display in our new kitchen. This is not just a decorative product; it is a well built and functional pan and well worth the cost.

It's a Mauviel; what can I say? Excellent construction and exemplary heat absorption. A true heirloom piece. I did discover that I ordered a bit larger size than I can ever see myself using, but then I won't ever have to worry about not having enough. While this is a true Zabaglione pan (essential is the interaction of copper and egg), it can, and is, used wherever a bain marie is used for sauces.
