PowerBassOE-690D 6x9 Midbass OEM Replacement Speakers/Woofers (Pair)

After 20 years, the main speakers in the front door of my 2005 Lexus SC 430 started to crackle. The paper part of the speakers peeled away from the rubber. It was irritating to listen to music with the least bit of bass. The speakers were the perfect fit and delivered great mid-range sound and bass. I had a professional auto audio shop install them because the front door panels on my car are complicated to remove. (I didn't want to end up with windows that wouldn't roll down or doors that wouldn't lock). These speakers are a good solution if your factory speakers go out as mine did.

I ordered these speakers to replace the factory 6x9 bass drivers that are no longer available for my car. They were not exactly a direct fit, the factory speakers had smaller magnets and shallower structures, but after slightly changing the way the factory drivers were mounted these fit. They have plenty of low frequency output for a 6x9, and are easily configured for 2 Ohm operation with the supplied wiring. Compared to the factory speakers, these do have lower extension in their frequency response and have what I would call a faster presentation. For example, kick drums have a cleaner leading edge to the sound in comparison to the drivers they replaced. These also seem to be pretty efficient, I had to turn the bass down a little compared to stock. If you need a 6x9 that can be wired to have a 2 Ohm impedance, these are a great option.

These are great replacements for the average listener who does not feel like spending $150 on one speaker From Toyota. They sound good they feel like better quality of course it does not sound like the JBL speaker exactly but it does get the job done certain songs that the JBL used to hit these speakers hit differently with other songs which this was expected.They were my replacements for my 2012 Venza fully loaded with JBL

Used in my '21 Tacoma Trd Offroad Premium with JBL stock stereo. I had replaced my stock jbl's with JBL GTO 6x9's in front and 6.5's in back. Front passenger GTO blew up after 2 years of mild use. Wired these up in parallel for 2ohms (measured at 2.5ohms on my fluke. They sound better than my GTO speakers for half the price. If you have jbl stock stereo in your tacoma the front 6x9 speakers are crossed over and only put out mids. No need for a co-axials. Just make sure you wire your 6x9 PB speakers in parallel (dual 4 ohm voice coils) as your stock tacoma jbl amp is designed for 2 ohms. If you put in 4 ohm svc speakers they will be very quiet, or if you wire these in series (8ohms) it will be very very quiet. Hope this helps

I needed replacement 6x9 8 ohm bass speekers and these worked perfectly in my 2008 lexus GX470. Had to grind a little plastic on the lexus bracket to make them fit. Also, don't be an idiot and use the wrong impedance, this is a dual 4 ohm voicecoil speaker, and needs to be bridged to be 8 ohms. Wireing in parallel males 2 ohms, and could ruin your amp. Instructions are clear and in the box.Sound is good, but know that these are only bass speekers.
