This book is a total ripoff IMO.every last one of these articles has been on Attack Magazines website at some point in time.as for the "pro tips"from a established producers?they are cherry picked quotes from various interviews that have featured under magazines published with Music Radar.As for the content itself.ofcourse there are no "secrets" in here,but the information either way is elementary.if you have actually had releases out or been at this a while,you will not find anything of value.i seriously regret buying this and i should honestly know betterWould not recommend to anybody but newbs

First things first. This isn't an A to Z route map to making a tune. If you want that I'd suggest one of the many video based tutorials various places do. This is a repository of information and you read cover to cover or dip in and out as you feel.For most elements of EDM this really is as deep as you can go. The only bit I felt maybe needed some expansion was the theory section but it constantly references real tunes so you can hear exactly what they mean as well. The problem is theory is a deep subject and coming from piano and guitar I felt it was maybe a bit lacking but I guess it's a bottomless pit if deep dive with theory. It's fine for beginners though.What I did like was the fact it was willing to say, yeah this is how you program a kick, here's the compression settings and types but sod it, if you want to use sample and loops then do so, if it sounds good, it sounds good.

This book is so deep with information that it leaves no question unturned. You can read it page by page and go on a musical journey as it explains everything concisely or you can pick it up and jump into the bass section and follow a quick.In my eyes this book should be taught as a course but I suppose it’s better this way because it means you can get all the knowledge of a dance producer at your fingertips which to me is like one of the greatest books that I have ever read! If you follow the whole book step by step you will become a master in my eyes with the knowledge that used to be hidden from us mortals.

Good level of useful detail supporting the creation and production of dance music. Would suit someone at an early stage of development, but also useful for someone like me to use as a refresher or for extra clarity on things. Written in a very clear way with supporting examples that can be used very practically. The book can be used as a complete guide from cover to cover, studied as individual chapters, or for picking out small elements for quick implementation. Excellent way of translating technical actions and details into musical outcomes. Consistent standard throughout.

Das Buch würde ich eher als Anfängerlektüre empfehlen.Ich produziere schon länger Musik, auch elektronische. Das Meiste, was das Buch vermittelt, sind doch eher Basisgeschichten.Wie programmiere ich eine einfache Bassline? Wie benutze ich Sidechain? Wie mach ich einen EDM Stacked Chord? Das sind nun whrs. alles Dinge, die die meisten Produzenten in-und auswendig kennen und tagtäglich benutzen.Hier hätte ich mir schon mehr "Geheimnisse" gewünscht. Wie zur Hölle kriegt man so super punchy Elektro Drums ala Kavinsky / Justice (werden als Referenz genannt) hin z.B.Welche Tricks benutzen die Pros, um die Synths so dreckig und fett klingen zu lassen? Einfach die Pro Tricks halt.Das hätte mich interessiert.Das Meiste ist dann doch eher: Wir bauen uns eine Bassdrum, oder wir machen ein Synth PAD. GÄHN... Das kann man in jedem Online Tutorial sehen. Das wurde schon tausendmal besprochen. Viel interessanter wäre doch, wieso klingen deine Synths schwach? Wieso ist dein Track langweilig? Wieso zur Hölle klingt der Track von XY so unglaublich geil?Wirkliche "Secrets" lässt hier kein Pro durchsickern. Ehrlich gesagt habe ich das aber auch gar nicht erwartet. Welcher Produzent gibt gerne seinen "Signature Sound" aus der Hand? Whrs. Niemand. Das wäre auch irgendwie der Todesstoß für jeden Produzenten.Wer erwartet mit dem Buch in die Profiliga aufzusteigen, wird enttäuscht werden. Es steckt weit mehr dahinter, als nur die richtige Software einzusetzen und eine Kickdrum zu programmieren. Ironischerweise empfinde ich es als wesentlich schwieriger sehr gute elektronische Musik zu produzieren, als akkustische. ich spiele 2 Instrumente und kann bei akustischer Musik viel leichter zum Ergebnis kommen. Aufnehmen, Mischen, fertig. Bei elektronischer Musik kann man auf so vielen Wegen den Mix ruinieren, einfach dadurch, dass einem Millionen Möglichkeiten offen stehen.Für Anfänger kann ich das Buch uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Die vielen bebilderten Anleitungen helfen jedem Anfänger, die ersten Hürden zu meistern und die vielen Fragen zu beantworten! Denn man wird anfangs mit Fachbegriffen erschlagen. Zudem sind akustische Grundkenntnisse irgendwann unumgänglich. Dann der technische Hardware Anteil, wenn es um Abhöre, Raumakustik geht. Diese Liste lässt sich endlos fortzusetzen. Musikproduktion lernt man über Jahre. Wenn man verschiedene Genres bedient, sogar vlt. Länger. Hier kann das Buch doch einiges an Hilfe leisten und die Basics vermitteln. Der Preis geht dafür auch voll in Ordnung.
