Works well
I own two other UltraFire LED lights—next size down—so I knew what I was getting into. Build quality is excellent: nice fit and finish, switch feels solid and rubber o-rings are used for water resistance. And, yeah, the near IR light (630 nm) is blindingly bright so the 300 meter range is no mere brag—keep away from eyes! My light meter measured output at 1890 LUX next to the light head, compared to 300 LUX for the single LED near IR model I own. Obviously three LEDs are brighter than one but also hotter running. The outer case gets very warm after about 5 minutes of constant use. Ten minutes borders on too hot to comfortably hold. Also, those 3 LED eat lots of power compared to my one LED UltraFire, so keep a spare battery handy and buy the highest mAH rating you can muster. My UltraFire battery is 3000 mAH and I burn through it in an evening of heavy use whereas the one LED UltraFire is good for three or four days with the same battery.Sometimes I shine the near IR light on sore finger joints and it makes them feel better after a couple minutes, so might be good for red light therapy too. The only wee complaint is this UltraFire appears black in product photos but the one I received is gun metal gray. It's a nice color but I prefer black. Finally, this light requires a hard to find, locally at least, 3.7v Li-ion rechargeable battery called a 18650. I already had spares from my other UltraFire torches but make sure you order a couple with charger if this is your first UltraFire.
