This book changed my life, literally!
I have experienced my fair share of trials! However, I feel like college and my personal life was a little extra rough this past school year. I was experiencing an enormous amount of rejection in all aspects of my life and I was struggling to see God working through me and in my life. In the midst of it all, I began reading this book and my perspective shifted! Once I changed my mindset and started to turn to God is the midst of my struggles I started to see changes happening in my life, and by this I mean good ones! Good grades, a job, finding where my passion lies, and a relationship being mended with the most important person in my life.I’ve told all my sorority sisters to read this because I swear that this will help any young adult female!

Real… much needed reading material
The most related book I have read. Thank you, Grace. Recommended to everyone no matter the struggle. Is it Just me? No it’s not. Great read.

Spoke on behalf of God with limited scripture references
Pros: I appreciated the questions at the end because it would inspire you to meditate and pray with the Holy Spirit. It encouraged us to work beyond the author and our own egos.Cons: The title is misleading. The title makes it read like the book is a Bible self-help book. I mean it is clear she is Christian but a lot of her "advice" was based on her own experience with zero mention of scripture to coincide with it. There were whole chapters with advice and self-help talk. She would write things like "Jesus wants us to....." with no scripture to back it up. When she did use scripture it was usually one verse. She rarely broke down the context, history, audience or anything to go with that passage. So it felt like she was finding scripture to prove her point instead of using scripture as the foundation. If you do not have the credentials or experience to be giving life advice then you better use something credible like scipture analysis. We got none of the above. The writing came across as young and inexperienced (words like "totally") which I can deal with if there is substance. However, with limited experience, limited credentials, and limited Biblical references, I had trouble getting advice from her. There were glimpses where the Holy Spirit would shine through but often it felt like somebody preaching God who hasn't studied the Bible much.

Relatable
Grace has the advantage of being able to write from a place that not all authors are able to. If you are like me and sit in your room at night wondering if anyone understands or could even help you through the insecure and fearful thoughts that creep into your heart and mind, Is It Just Me (as well as her former book Am I Enough?) are PERFECT for you. Instead of feeling like an adult is preaching at you and telling you how to fix your life, this girl is talking about stuff that she has RECENTLY walked through, and gives practical and biblical advice for how to walk through the questions that all of us have on an everyday basis. Definitely recommend this girl!

Relatable
This book was absolutely AMAZING!! From the beginning to the end, it just felt like a conversation with a best friend. Grace is real with her readers, she does not hold back and I admire her for that. She does not act like she has her life together all the time, she admits her struggles, and from a college girl trying to figure life out as a Christian, I truly appreciate that. 10/10 recommend getting this book for yourself or someone you love!

AMAZING!!!!
Wow. I just love Grace Valentine. I originally found Grace on Instagram and loved her posts (soooo worth a follow- @thegracevalentine) as they were so encouraging. This book is filled with scripture, wisdom and encouragement. It’s anecdotal in that she is relatable, but still has a foundation in scripture and the word that is so wise for her age!!! This is the book I wish I had my freshman year of college. Grace is a rockstar!!! Buy this for all the young women in your life!!!!

Don’t question it- just read it!
Grace Valentine has a God given, gifted way with words. She’s kind, honest, real, and humble. Reading this book feels like you’re talking to an older sister or your best friend- the honest kind of friend. This book gives you the comfort to know that you’re not alone in whatever part of life you’re walking in. Don’t question it, just read it! And while you’re at it, read her first book too! ❤️
