Lumin: a ray of Light in a Dark World
In Washington (the state), during the winter, the period of darkness each day is nearer to 2/3 of the time than 1/2 the time. So I go to work in the dark and then come home in dark. Before and after work activities are in the dark too. This little light is about the same size as a tube of chapstick. It is very handy, I use it more often and in more instances each day.At first, I was concerned about the battery life. But, I am still on the first AA.Only 300 Lumins: I was concerned about this at first too. Not now. I read a philosophy of a Navy Seal teacher that lower lumin will help preserve your night vision. So boom, little light used to find your dropped keys without messing with your rods and cones. I do not need to see across a canyon with this light. I have other ones for that. But I can find my keys and then safely drive a car without dazzled eyeballs. This light is very handy. I am not burning through batteries or my pocket. This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.

Probably the best Olight product
Olight makes some really good stuff, but the i5T is probably their best. I really don't have time or inclination to mess around with more power cords and rechargeable things in my life. I prefer a flashlight that takes AAs like this one, or CR123s or AAA, all of which I can find anywhere in the world. An alkaline battery also poses no problems with air travel. Also unlike some models, the "user interface" is simple. One click gives you a usable 15 lumens to let you navigate a dark room or outdoors, and a runtime of ~20 hours. Even if you were in a three-day power blackout, that would get you through three nights. Click it again and it goes to 300 lumens of well diffused light for a couple minutes, which would light up a suburban yard of an acre or two. After a couple minutes of that it steps down to 150 lumens on "high" but it's still a lot of light. There's nothing else to memorize -- no SOS strobes, or five different power settings, or lockout modes to keep from burning a hole in your pocket. This is the way an EDC flashlight should work. The TIR lens works as advertised and it's amazing how it lights up such a big area without any "hot" or dark spots.

I'd skip this one. There's better value out there in the AA flashlight category.
You know what I wanted to like this light, but maybe my use case didn't let me like it. First, it only takes AA. Not having ability to take 14500 really holds this light back in my opinion. I've seen some make it work, but the battery I stuck in it would only make it flash and it wouldn't stay on. Second, it's only got two brightness settings. That be ok, but this is a 30 dollar light! (or at least what I paid). The finish is great and it's got some heft, but is that really what I want? The reverse clip I thought I'd use on my cap, but I haven't yet, and I'm thinking a lighter light would be more suited. The finish is better than any Lumintops I have , but I don't really care about it. I have some cheaper lights that have better functionality, can take 14500s (which gives more lumens), are lighter, and also have a keychain option. So in the end, I would not buy this again. Honestly, I should've returned it.

Just get it.
Update**Still 5 star. But just wanted to put it out there just in case you get a "mushy" tail cap button.I got 4 of these. One of them came with a "mushy" tail cap button. It wasn't springy or clicky like it should be.......I just unscrewed the cap, dropped a few drops of oil in the tiny hole in the middle of the spring (inside of tailcap), gave it a few clicks, bam! Fixed. Its clicky and springy.I think the electric grease just hardens over time.****I got this one after getting my wife the green one. This camo one looks awesome. And it comes with a battery case thats so convenient.I got mine from skyben trade seller.Looks better in person. If you're contemplating getting it, just get it. Its bright, its tactical, practical, small enough to carry every single day, AA batteries super convenient. I use it everyday even in the house.

If you like simplicity and reliability you will like this flashlight
I wanted a simple no-nonsense emergency power outage flashlight that family members can use without having to figure out a complicated UI (user interface). I have lots of other flashlights and some of them are so complicated or temperamental that kids will have a hard time figuring them out. This light is about as simple as it gets. One soft press for momentary hold on low and one more soft press within 2 seconds for momentary hold on high. Or you can full click to lock in high or low. It uses a single AA battery and if it's like my other Olights, it will have great reliability. I bought each of the kids a light but neglected to get one for myself. I will remedy that situation once I post this review.

Does the job.
I can tell you this..............it sure is purple (LoL). Love that point! This is my second small light from Olight. I have the AAA version of this and it is a nice light. This one is no different. At first it would appear that the output is about the same as the AAA. What is different is the throw. The AAA version has a more defined center or hot spot. The AA version is more of a flood. Both are perfect for EDC. Overall you will have made a good choice if you decided to purchase this light! Thanks to Olight for also providing a wide array of colors! BTW I have read where there were some concerns about the lower voltage rechargeable batteries not working (1.2V). So far that has not been the case. I have tried Energizer and RayOvac and both worked flawlessly! Have not tried my EBL's yet. I do not suspect to have any issues. Naturally your batter life will be dependent on your usage. For general purpose the batter life is about what I expected. The momentary on does help save on battery life. So go out and buy one already!

Good quality flashlight for EDC
Highly recommended for everyday use. Simple push button operation and bright enough for most use cases. Comes with a clip and a battery case. They even include a AA battery. Feels well built and has weight in your hand. Doesn’t feel cheap.
