Works like a charm!
Our dog Zulu (an awesome Rhodesian Ridgeback) managed to nick his ear on something. Because he has floppy ears, every time he shook his head, they smacked together, rupturing the sore and causing profuse amounts of blood to spurt in long arcs across our walls and furniture. Our living room seriously began to look like a crime scene. I repeatedly tried to bandage his ear but nothing would stick to his fur. I finally took him to the vet - where he promptly sprayed the vet, the vet tech, myself and friend with blood. The exam room resembled a surgery gone wrong. All this from one tiny superficial sore smaller than my pinky fingernail. Anyway, to keep him from rubbing or pulling off the bandages we had to wrap his entire head. This is where the Elastikon came in! What a wonderful product. Unlike the other bandages I tried, it did not roll up and shift around. Once bandaged and the "cone of shame" in place, the bandages stayed on for a week. I doubted that they would last beyond that, but we were supposed to keep the bandages in place for 2 - 3 weeks. Armed with Elasticon and gauze pads (which is what they used at the vet's), I was able to bandage him up again and save myself the $100.00 vet bill! Elastikon worked just like it was supposed to. Unfortunately, it did take some fur with it when it came off, but it stayed on long enough for the sore to heal. I still have plenty left for the next time Zulu injures himself.

Best bandage tape.
This tape is very flexible, and super adhesive. I use last whenever I wrap an injury, to ensure it doesn't come unwrapped. My dog hates this stuff because he can't peel it off, but I love it.Just be cautious and use it over gauze or other sport wrap, because it sticks to whatever you put it on and does not want to come off easily. Do not use this on sensitive areas of skin, hair, or fur -- because you will do more damage when you try to remove it.If you do have to peel it off of a sensitive area, I found that soaking the tape in alcohol before pulling it off works really well. This is my goto first aid tape. I will purchase again, and will always recommend to others. It is probably more pricey than others, but it's worth it.

Nice elastic tape for horses’ leg wraps
Great for horses.... if you know about wrapping horses’ legs, you’ll know why elastic tape like this is so important! The 2-inch can be a little easier to handle and unroll than the wider. I think most horse vets use the 3-inch-wide, though.

Hard to find item!
These bandages which used to be easier to find in drugstores are much harder to find now. They have been replaced by the kind that stick only to themselves. As a nurse in the ER, they were used to support sprained ankles and the like after applying betadyne to the skin and letting it dry....fewer allergic skin reactions.

Leaves glue on your skin
Leaves glue on your skin that will NOT come off, even with scrubbing. It took days for the glue to be completely gone off my foot. The tape peels up and doesn't stay on well at all. Plus, I had an allergic reaction to it.....but that may be just a personal, individual thing. Maybe others will find this tape useful and a good buy, but I was really dissatisfied with my purchase.

First aid essential
I first began using elastikon on dogs and horses because their hair and movement makes it difficult to do a wrap that stays in place. This product was a lifesaver when my dog had an aural hematoma. The only thing I could find to wrap his ear with that he couldn't shake off. Instead of getting looser over time the adhesive actually sticks better. Having a pair of nursing shears or blunt scissors to cut it off is a good idea. Expect some residue from the adhesive when removed. This is great product to include in your first aid kit. For immediate care of wounds I would recommend an Israeli Battle Dressing. Once bleeding is controlled and the patient is ready to be moved a wrap with Elastikon is more secure and long term. Keep it in a ziplock so it doesn't dry out.*As with all compression bandaging to be left in place, be very conscious of circulation!

Stretches and sticks
This product is the kind of take that breathes. If you need that feature, this is it. It has a moderate amount of stick. It will hold to itself but it's not difficult to remove either. I like it and it will be fine for my home first aid kit.

Brand name-did NOT stay sticky!Ordered for a wound.Used it in vet med for YEARS,was great!Dried out?
I’m not sure if this wasn’t stored properly or what; as I said my horse had a wound, and I had used this name brand in veterinary nursing for years and it was great! This did NOT stay sticky. I’ll if it got dried out during shipping, but it was not good at all.
