Submersible, Yeah! Inline, Meh.
I bought because I needed an inline pump roughly in the 250 gph range. I am a fan of Oase products, and I liked the idea that the pump could be inline or submersible, giving it versatility. So I decided to give this a go.It changes from being submersible by removing the shroud and snapping on an in-line connection port. An O-ring seals that connection piece to the pump. However, once a tube is connected, the o-ring seal can be broken with relatively minimal left/right/up/down pressure from the hose, causing it leaks. With my intent to put this in a relatively small cabinet under a tank, I just didn't have room to make an immediate tube bend and feel comfortable that it wouldn't cause issues moving forward. Just didn't work for my intended application.I'm sure it would work inline, with enough room. And I do intend to keep as a back-up for submersible applications.
