This ice pick is excellent!
I waited a while to write this review intentionally. I use an external ice maker to fill a bin in my freezer. The drawback of doing that is that inevitably water drips when filling the bin and that causes the cubes to freeze together, hence the need for a pick. I've used more common designed ice picks. They're okay, but they normally have a chrome coating that eventually comes off exposing the metal underneath. That said, this ice pick is a champ!! I've been using it for several months and there's no chipping of a chrome coating. It's still going strong. It's far more durable than the others I've used over and over, and the ice pick still looks brand new. Secondly, the pick is tapered which is a great feature. Other picks have a pick that's the same diameter all the way to the handle. This one is more wedge shaped which makes breaking apart ice cubes frozen together much easier. You don't have to chip into the ice hard. Just insert it into a small opening and apply pressure. The wedge shape does all the work.I'm a big fan and would definitely purchase again.

Nice Bar Tool
Sturdy! I use this pick several times a week. I've had it well over a year and still in really good shape.

Careful!!!
This tool works great. It feels great in your hand, is VERY sharp on both the "hammer" end and on the pick end. It's got a good weight to it where it is heavy enough to break up the ice, but no so heavy you can't use it more than a few seconds. Be careful not to stab hurt yourself with it, it is sharp!!

Fatal Attraction
This is a magnificent instrument. I had no idea when I ordered it how impressive it would be. I was only looking for a plain old ice pick and I couldn’t find one anywhere. My ice maker has a tendency to over-freeze and every once in a while I have to remove all the jammed up ice and start over with a fresh bin of ice. This precisely tooled instrument will crack any ice block you might experience. It also has an extremely sharp ball peen hammer on the other end, thus irradicating any dull surfaces from your life. I’m just glad I discovered this marvelous tool after my divorce, and not before!

Good quality, solid ice pick
My French door refrigerator causes my ice to slightly melt, which of course makes all the cubes stick together. I bought this quality ice pick and my ice problems are over! Good quality and weight, it works just as needed. Not only the pick, but the hammer side helps to separate ice chunks. Just wipe off and stick back in the drawer. Highly recommend.

Three heads to choose from. Works GREAT!
I admit I was blown away by just how good of a product this tool is for breaking up ice. I always like to put my meats, especially fresh fish, on ice in ziplock bags in the meat drawer to keep them fresher for longer. And because in ziplock bags I don't have to use new ice each time. But the ice tends to block together over time and then I need to find new ways to break it up. The reason THIS ice pick is far superior to anything else I've ever tried is because it literally has THREE sides and all three work differently. When dealing with refrozen blocks sticking together I use the hammer head side. It's got just the right amount of extra weight, and it WORKS. Then on same end but other side of the hammer, there's the weighted sharper chisel end and of course the pick itself on the other end. And super easy to go from one to the other. Couldn't believe just how good it was. Feels like a quality product too. The ONLY thing to keep in mind is when switching from the hammer side to ice pick itself you just want to be aware you're grabbing one side that has the chisel which is a little sharp if not careful. I never had an issue with it but could see how when stabbing at ice with the pick portion, with force, the grip of the chisel portion could potentially injure someone if not conscious of it. It's not THAT sharp but we're using some decent force when breaking up ice so just like with any sharp object just handle with care. But this ice breaking tool is the best I've ever used, by far!

Too sharp at the other end
I like the design and the material of the ice chisel. I do not like the sharpness of the other chisel because it can cause injury by accident.
